Does anyone recall how the cladding material was described in the planning application? The precast doesn't look bad, but it doesn't look like what's in the renderings either.

yep. thats a sad looking beige. the renderings were white, and much better looking IMHO.
bleh. i was hoping this would turn out better then i thought - nope. its worse.

The white did look nice, sad that it didn't quite turn out that way - I'm still holding out for this one though. It's actually coming together nicely. Excited to see how the glass looks on the upper floors

From some views I don't mind this building. But when I see that last one (looking diagonally across Queen) all I can think of is how poorly that compares to how the previous building addressed that corner. It is a far cry from the original in terms of detailing etc. Old one had presence, especially given the details, whereas the new one is just a big sharp building corner that does nothing to address what is a high traffic pedestrian area.

I think it's too early to judge this one yet just based upon the panels that are there right now. A lot will be determined how they handle the street-level details.
