Burger King in Bathurst is currently in full renovation. Going to be good as it was looking pretty run down!

Nothing above ground yet. They closed King George Highway early Sunday morning (7-12) to run water and sewer under the street.

There is work going on at that site. They tore down the Leader building, and moved the house that was next door. Lots of digging.

But nothing on the GMRSC map yet.

Any news on the future gas station at the 310 exit on Vanier ? Wondering how Irving will cope with their 24hr station across the way , might they decide to develop into a full truck stop or perhaps close (yeah right) !?

Yes the development on vallée lourde will be a major one for the city, its a whole new neighborhood that will be created, something Bathurst has not seen in many years.

As for the gas station on Vanier, I think this will be it for this year, there is no more equipment on site but I suspect we will see an early spring beginning for this.

And for the Irving, think it will stay just as it is. There is 2 other Irving's down the road across each other and people stopping at the truck stop can chose to fuel up there and use the amenities of the new location. But I could be wrong, the piece of land where the parking fueling station could accommodate a big stop if they wanted to.

Only time will tell I guess but i’m glad to see that we will finally tap in the traffic that passes through the city on the highway.

Foundation is being poured at the new Nissan dealership in Bathurst

Also, heavy equipment and construction trailer have make their appearance on the site of the future gas station/restaurant/strip mall on Vanier

New sign being put besides the subway in Beresford for a nursing home opening some time next year. Also there has been some work being done in the old Subway location across the street.
