Architects: Buckenham & Miller, Ames Leal Greenleaf and Elizabeth Biddle Shipman
Location: Hillsborough Township, New Jersey.

Various architects overtime helped design it as the estate had several additions or really the main house itself.

Water Tower Townhouse

The best part about this outrageous water tower townhouse is that you can actually rent it.

The West London water tower home is owned by British furniture designer Tom Dixon, who purchased the 60-foot water tower and the surrounding land in 2005. It’s outfitted to meet strict eco-friendly standards, offers amazing views of a world-class city and, most amazingly, is available for rent on Airbnb.

Keisuke Kawaguchi+K2-Design | House of Shimanto
in Architecture by editor — 7:19 pm | August 1, 2013

The town of Shimanto, Kouchi Prefecture: On the north stands the Shikoku mountain range, to the south the Pacific Ocean, and through its center the leisurely flowing transparent waters of the Shimanto River. This area is a plateau and yet also a basin surrounded by mountains. Due to the crossing of the Shimanto River, fog often occurs, especially from summer to autumn, and the area experiences heavy annual rainfall. Although the surrounding environment is especially beautiful, the building site presented us with several design challenges. Our first priority was safeguarding against the anticipated potential damage caused by heavy rainfall. Second, in the midst of an open rural landscape, the property stands facing an intersection of an interstate road which produces a great deal of daytime traffic. Reducing noise and obstructing the drivers’ line of vision into the house were significant factors to consider.

Most Expensive Home in the US: Copper Beech Farm, Connecticut

The photos below depict a charming looking building in Connecticut dating back to the 1890s, surrounded by a 50-acre property. But the unusual fact about this mansion is that it was currently listed for sale at a striking price tag of $190, officially making it the most expensive home in the US! According to Business Insider, Copper Beech Farm has 15,000 square feet of living space, 7,000 square feet of basement and attic space, and an 1,800-foot-long driveway. Other features include a grass tennis court, many gardens, apple orchard, greenhouses, 75-foot-long heated pool, and a carriage house.

Contemporary House Away From the Urban Rush: The Enchanting Solitary AIBS House

The enchanting region of Ibiza is the home to some of the wildest parties, being famous for its clubs and nightlife. What few people know is that Ibiza is also blessed with some of the most tranquil and isolated spots, places filled with wilderness, where one can relax, disconnect from problems and forget about the world. This is the side of Ibiza that we want to explore more. We’ve spotted an interesting contemporary residential project developed by Atelier d’Architecture Bruno Erpicum & Partners (AABE) and would like to share it with you. The project is called AIBS House, it sports several volumes, it’s neat and it’s located in the most amazing place on this planet, on a cliff, overlooking the infinite blue water.

What a great idea, the re-use of a school bus! Too many of our old school buses end up in Central America used as Chicken buses!

Atelier d’Architecture Bruno Erpicum & Partners | INFINITY
in Architecture by editor — 8:52 am | August 27, 2013

The house takes up its position, back facing the other houses, and simply embraces the entire horizon. The architect has limited terrain to work on. The trick however is to release all the emotions of the place: opening or splitting, reflecting infinity.

Retro Vegas Home Oozes Suburban Subterranean Charm

If you’re used to seeing the dreary, claustrophobic bomb shelters in movies, you’ll be blown away by this luxury underground home in Las Vegas. Built in the 1970s by a wealthy businessman, the underground bunker home was meant to keep the owner and his wife safe in the event of a nuclear attack.
