Cool!

Any idea if they're building it with 2 lanes in each direction?

This really should have been done before Southdale was widened

No doubt! Note this is only Wonderland to Wharncliffe, certainly a great start but it really needs to extend to Bostwick (connect at Pack) and Whiteoaks Road.

That phase will probably start as soon as this first phase is done.

This project has been talked about for decades, I believe there's sometype of dispute that's holding up the White Oak - Wharncliffe portion. Makes no other sense why the city would created a truncated road in 2 parts and link it together down the road, rather than build continuously east to west. There's something else at play here, just doesnt make sense, since it'll be a bit of a jog until its finally linked. Let's hope it doesn't end up like Adelaide south...

Yes, it will be 4 lanes total.

Bradley between White Oak and Wharncliffe will be 2022. This includes 4-laning the portion east of White Oak Road to Jalna Boulevard.

Seems like a waste to build 2 lanes now and then 4 lanes later.

I mean the road doesn't even exist now, so you won't really be hindering traffic by taking the time to make it 4 lanes right away. More money upfront yes, but it will cost less than widening it at a later time.

With all the big box development on Wonderland South this road will be fully utilized when it opens. It will poorly operate with 1 lane in each direction.

But better than nothing I guess. Will help take the stress off White Oak and Southdale.

No, the roadway will open to 4 lanes right away, between Jalna Boulevard and Wonderland Road. It won't be built as a 2-lane only, but 4-lanes right away.

I work Wonderland Rd South area and we got a document today from the city outlining the project. Says it will run from May 2017 to Fall 2017.

Will be "4 lanes, sewers, street lightnh, sidewalks, a two-way boulevard cycle track,

It's long overdue.

Next phase is White Oaks to Wharncliffe followed by Wonderland to Pack I would hope.

Likely we won't see those phases for another couple of decades.

Work is fully underway for this first phase. Took a few decades but finally shovels are in the ground.

I hope the timing speeds up. Something from 2014 when the Killer Bees were shaking things up cant be reliable. They were against any growth and wanted London to stay the same forever.

I see the word "cache" in your link. That seems to imply that it's a temporary cached link you are sharing
