It caught me off guard too. Great angle that I've never seen before. I know how/where they took this and will try to get a better quality shot next time I am there.

It's too bad they used several years old footage of the city.

^^^ Great shot of just how expansive Toronto is. Every time I see a scene like this it makes me wonder why people are so surprised to see a skyline emerge right next to single family dwellings in suburban cities.. I don't think it's any different in major urban centres in any other Canadian city... case in point.. this pic.

There quite a few single family subdivisions that emerged beside tower in a park communities. Transitioning is provided by green space and parking lots. It's just a weird form no matter how common it was for suburban high rise development at that time across the continents that has led to even stranger built forms with high rise and low rise in the GTA since.

Those Toronto shots remind me of like underground sprinkler systems, where at the location of a sprinkler head has grass growing better and faster. The sprinkler system piping obviously being the subway, and the stations/skyscrapers being the sprinkler heads. A silly analogy I know… I see it happening too in Calgary, with the development of skyscrapers at the many different stations.

If only there was a subway stop at each of the sprinkler heads. Well, Eglinton will have a subway and the lower left corner will have ROW LRT

Nice Toronto pic. Just guessing here, but that shot might have just over a million people - or less than 1/6th of the region's population. However, I wouldn't be surprised if almost half of the region's residential land value, and probably more than half of the region's wealth, lives in that photo.
