River Street Lofts destined for River and 15th streets

Quote:
McCall developer Tim Nau intends to build a 10-unit, energy-efficient, townhome-style condominium complex at River and 15th streets – across the street from the proposed downtown Boise baseball/soccer stadium and other assorted commercial and office development.

Live/work units are ok. Some of those could end up being artist studios or similar.

At last nights State of Downtown Boise Address, Local Construct developer Mike brown did a presentation about housing millennials and baby boomer and how they affect the market. Towards the end, he showed the group this slide of Local Construct properties under construction/completed and projects in the works. Local construct owns quite a bit more than I thought.
Sorry for the quality and angle, our table was way off to the side.

Thanks for posting TVurban; their ownership on 15th and Bannock is news to me.

Am I imagining it, but was there a proposal for something called the Metropolitan that would have spanned that entire block over to 16th back in like 2005? I recall this rendering of a 4 or 5 story building with a rooftop park area! It looked so cool in my memory! Anyways, good to know some infill development potential there could still link Idaho St Townhomes over to Watercooler, and downtown density.

Awesome pics Sawtooth. Great new angles of town you've captured -- it's slightly surreal having these new sightlines all over the place. Last weekend I walked through that new Ann Morrison Park entrance and up 5th to BBC. Fowler looks great in person as you captured, and those new super wide curbless sidewalks on Fulton are !!

the Marriott crane is starting to come down today.

so we won't have a tower crane downtown for the first time in about 4 or 5 years, I think.

wonder how long until we see another tower crane.

Why Boise, Idaho, Is a Growing Culinary Hotspot
Quote:
Food pilgrims, those obsessively nerdy eaters who travel for star-chef meals and Instagram-sensation dishes, have a surprising new stop in the Northwest: Boise, Idaho. The burgeoning capital city is having a culinary renaissance spurred by creative young chefs, artisans, brewers, and even winemakers. With a population of just over 218,000, Boise feels like a mini Seattle or Portland, Oregon, minus the culinary pretension. You’ll find all of the essentials of a great food city: third-wave coffee roasters, gourmet donut shops, craft cocktail bars, food trucks, tasting-menu restaurants, spots dedicated to perfecting a single dish; plus plenty of green space to hike, bike, and paddle up an appetite for your next meal.

Thanks Visualize and trails. Downtown has grown so much recently and it is exciting to see. I've loved seeing the empty lots developed and creating an even more dense and intimate downtown.

Count me in as one of those nerdy eaters Cottonwood. The dining scene has evolved and grown a lot the past few years and we are fortunate to live in a valley with a wine region and where so much food is grown. Imo Boise has turned into the dining hot spot between Portland and Denver. Sun Valley and Ketchum are tasty too.

btw, this new ramen restaurant is amazing and already a hit.

Not necessarily development news, but potential future development.
The office building across the from the planned stadium is for sale. It is currently leased by St. Luke's. The parcel is 3 acres in size. Maybe it'll be bought up by the stadium developer and added to the mix-use development plans??

There's potentially a big surprise on the corner of 8th and Fort Street by the Co-op for those who don't know, depending on the architecture.

There is a banner on the old space for a 4 story mixed use 1st floor retail. Not sure how to get photos onto this site otherwise I would have

Adding to this ^^^^
Don Day had an article on it this morning and then the Statesman followed.
Not a lot of details on it yet. See the links below!
Great location for it!! Now if only the Co-op annex can get redeveloped with housing above and retail on Hayes/8th sides!

Regarding the old dry cleaning facility, I'm surprised no one mentioned the contamination problem. Has this been resolved?

I'll try and find a source, hang on...

The bank financing this would most likely require an Environmental Report to determine if there is any dry cleaning contamination that needs to be taken care of.
