I struggle to decide where to put overpasses to link farm roads when building freeways in the Prairies...

Un gros problème avec Les Prairies, c'est de décider où constuire des viaducs pour lier des routes agricoles lorsqu'on convertit la route divisée en vraie autoroute...

Virden needs to pull a Moosomin type of idea. Seems to have worked for them.

Same for Brandon. A bypass to the north will probably happen before a full on freeway system.

Shouldn't the north end of Morris be a dogbone interchange too? As it would also make a connection for Hwy 330 going towards Rosenort.

But I'm not sure if a freeway system will happen anytime soon across MB or Saskatchewan, but hopefully throughout the century we can develop a strategy (almost interstate like as the Maritimes and Ontario have done it).

Here's some highway projects I hope happen in this decade (2020's):

- Twinning of North Hwy 59 To Victoria Beach and South to Hwy 52
- Hwy 52 from 59 to Steinbach west
- Paving of hwy 200 and 246
- Paving of Hwy 227
- Hwy 1 and 5 intersection improvements (Hopefully traffic light or Interchange)
- Hwy 1 and 16 Interchange (Probably 2030's)
- Interchange at Dugald Road and Perimeter Hwy
- Centreport Canada way extension to Hwy 1 (probably 2030's)
- St Norbert Bypass [(75 realignment) probably 2030's, but hope it comes before CCW]

These are some of the projects I would like to see happen first over other projects. Yes maybe 1 & 16, Dugald and Perimeter and CCW/ St Norbert Bypass may seem a little overambitious, but those are some projects I hope get tackled sooner than later

Think of my thruway option as a feasibility check.

I don't see that as being as feasible. One side of businesses would have to be knocked down and be forced to relocate. SO, I think that it would be better to totally relocate Hwy 75. If Morris was built in the mountains (say Wallace Idaho and Kamloops BC, or most other towns in BC) and we had no other choice but build a thruway, then it would have to do. Since we do have lots of land to build a bypass, make use of it. Yet some land owners may lose land, but better than destroying businesses in town and forcing people to relocate.

That makes more sense. If I could design freeways, I'd like as little exits as possible

I'm honestly not even certain that an interchange would be necessary at PTH 23, just a flyover. Morris' population is less than 2,000.

It’s the JCT between 2 trunk routes. You may as well put it there.

A simple diamond interchange would suffice.

There's no need to have full interchanges at the north and south ends of Morris. Someone exiting Morris to the north does not need to go back south on the bypass. They should go through town to head west or south.

At the north end, grade separate NB bypass lanes overtop of exiting PTH 75. If you want to mix in the PR 330 interchange there, that would work too.

Same thing at the sound end. Grade separate NB bypass lanes overtop of existing PTH 75 SB lanes.

Diamond interchange at PTH 23.

The bridge to overpass both railways and the river north of Morris is a perfect location for an iconic cable stayed bridge. Except it's in Morris.
