Mayoral Race - The Prediction

Now that the runoff election results are in, my prediction was on point. However, I never thought that 11,000 more people would vote in the runoff than in the general election... 2,000 would have been impressive, but 11,000...WOW

Race played a major part in the outcome of this runoff election, which was a helluva lot closer than anyone predicted.

Now, Kasim Reed must begin the long process of healing the rift between the northside and the southside of this great city.

I said nothing even close to that. Anyway, there's a separate thread for this topic already.

As for ATL construction, the lights inside the crown of 12th and Midtown office tower have been on every night for the past week or so. Looks good. Work is still continuing on 11th street.

Well that's pretty impressive for one of those old mid-80s era skyscrapers.

They have completed the first row of new windows at the top of the Westin !! Has anyone else noticed the distinct color change in the new color choice over the old? More bronze tint.

It was reported several months ago that the new windows would have a bronze glazing.

Close up pictures of the Westin's "bronze" windows

The color change is actually extremely subtle. The new windows do look noticeably flatter though...

Flatter? You can't be flatter than flat....the old windows were already flat.

Anyone who's seen Smiley Face know's not to blame this on the smoke.

I feel like the philosophy of build it and they will come, then continue to come until they clog it and you build more is the main concept behind this.

I guess Ray LaHood's come-to-jesus meeting with the DOT leadership last Fall fell on deaf ears.

This is beyond belief - our own Big Dig.

i like the arch better than that proposal.

tolling 285 would be a lot easier than digging holes in the ground.
