Who is going to pay for this Surrey skytrain expansion? I don't want to contribute a dime for this project.

I hate to break it to you, but unless the private sector for some reason decides to finance the whole thing themselves then if the extension happens, you're going to be contributing at least few dimes for this project.

Luckily as a skytrain station and an inanimate object rather than a person, you don't have to worry about money!

You realize that taxpayers South of the Fraser have paid for a portion of all of the existing Skytrain lines, and B-lines up until now? Where do you think 'Provincial' and 'Federal' funding comes from also, other taxpayers that don't live in your city. It's not like Burnaby ever raised a dime for it's two Skytrain lines on it's own.

It's pretty embarrassing to hear an adult glibly say that you've got yours and screw everyone else, when they've financed your infrastructure.

Everyone else financed infrastructure that allowed the conditions to allow for a development like Gilmore Station, something he holds dead, as a home or an investment ... or both.

I was going to say didn't they rebuild the slopes facing the tracks when the line was built? Looks more like water scoured either under part of the wall but otherwise washed a ton of sediment onto the tracks.

Did I read the minutes correctly from the Translink meeting? Surrey will re-imburse Translink $56M for the money spent on LRT to date? That's significant.

5G depends for it's higher speeds on a much denser cell grid - something closer to a cell site per city block rather than the few km between towers that you see with 4G. So there shouldn't be as much contention for the finite limits of time and frequency multiplexing needed to communicate with each site.

Thanks for that. "Some" should be "all", but I suspect it will be in land for the line, which is fine.

I also suspect that some of the LRT planning can be used for Skytrain, making it not 'unnecessary'. I don't doubt there's going to be future crankiness over how much of it wasn't necessary and needs to be paid back (in particular Brodie vs McCallum).

WTF? M-Line inbound track is still out of service as of this morning!!! 24hrs and counting to fix this (I know they had to wait until power was cut over-night but that seems to have not been enough time.

It's not like highways don't get closed every year due to landslides or avalanches, and sometimes they take over a day to open again both ways.

Well if things couldn't get worse as of 15 minutes ago SkyTrain is short turning at Stadium station due to a fire.

Lets go for a triple play on SkyTrain and bring the system to it knees for rush hour.

Just heard they are doing a manual drive waterfront Stadium and from Stadium to waterfront.

Yeah, Surrey should pay just like how Coquitlam paid for all of the LRT costs incurred that turned out to be useless. Oh wait, nevermind, because that never happened...
