Canada's capital region had a lovely day but we didn't make it up to the 15-16 that was forecast. We maxed out at 12 this afternoon and now we've started to drop. Currently 10.

Came home to this. I'm not sure I've ever seen hail this big.

Snowing slush in Vancouver right now. It's 1c, so it's not sticking thankfully. I've got to drive in half an hour, and didn't want to have to deal with snowy/icy roads.

I captured this fog rolling in from English Bay the other day. It's not a very common sight, and looks really cool when it engulfs Lions Gate Bridge.

15C and sunny today! Perfection! Officially 14.9C which was 0.1C off from the all-time February high for Montreal (YUL).

Not a lot of snow left

Low of -1C (wind chill -5) this morning. I had some doubt in the morning we would reach the forecasted temperature but we skyrocketed 10C in about 2 hours shortly before noon.

The warmspot was Windsor, ON at 21.4C. New high in 2024.
Saint-Anicet recorded 19.4C which was the highest of the EC provincial stations.
Apparently, Ormstown reached 20.5C (government station) which is unofficially a new provincial record for February. St Anicet and Ormstown are maybe about 20 km from each other both close to the US border.

Warmest low was Windsor, ON at 8.9C.

First humidex reading of the year in Windsor and Sarnia with Windsor topping at 23.

I'll be here at the end of March when it's -20, and I will put the blame squarely on YOU, mister.

The morning wasn't too bad but by afternoon Old Man Winter was coming back for a little visit.
I was in North Vancouver in the afternoon and saw lots of flurries and sleety drizzle but nothing accumulating.
Back downtown it got really wet with steady cold rain through the evening.

I'm sure there's been some snow piling up at higher elevations or areas further from the water.
The local skiers will probably be happy.

Tuesday's high at Vancouver Harbour was 5 C, the low was 1 C.

Some pretty good thunderstorms went through NS around 2am-ish, along with some heavy rain. First winter thunderstorm of the season, I think.

We're having another rollercoaster ride. +11 today with chance of showers, +8°C tonight with heavy rain and winds gusting to 90 or 100 km/h, then temperatures falling to -7°C in the afternoon and -13 at night.

The snowbanks are continuing to shrink, which is fine by me. From here, the weather is looking very spring-like next week.

Currently +10C and raining in Moncton at 10 AM. Apparently there were thunderstorms along the Fundy coast earlier this morning, but they missed Moncton.

A heavy rainfall warning has been issued with up to 50 mm expected. A sharp cold front will pass through early tomorrow morning leaving 2-3 cm of snow as the system pushed through.

The change will be dramatic. The temperature tomorrow morning at 7 AM is expected to be +7C, but an hour later will be +1C. Tomorrow night, the low will be -16C.

Temperatures will quickly rebound however and will be +7C by the weekend.

I doubt Tancredi ever experiences temperature fluctuations like this!

Impossible. Here in the infernal Palermo the strongest temperature excursions are those that have caused the temperature to rise from 25 to 45'

I went over to Surrey last evening and they had a lot of snow, quite a few cm accumalated, when I came back to the Coquitlam side it was bare, not really any signs of snow at all, Surrey roads were slushy, the side roads were blanketed and on this side nothing. It was raining on both sides at that time just after midnight.

Currently 4 with rain expected.

Incredibly weird weather in Toronto.

Currently 16 (!), which has blown past our forecast of 12. And in a few hours, it will be below freezing with a potential ice storm.

We are 1.6 degrees away from the all time February high (17.7).

New all-time high dewpoint for February in Montreal. Old record was 9.2C (1981). Last 2 hours, dewpoint was 10C (rounded). Even now at noon, dewpoint point still at 9.4C.

Walked along Bronte Creek below the QEW. Sure is prettier when the water is clear but the rain the last two days was needed.

And I wonder if people take their jeeps and do a mini hill climb up that berm. This is located on a dead end road that splinters off of the service road.

Bronte is one on the top fisheries for steelhead (spawning rainbow trout) come third Saturday in April. Anglers will love seeing the water level raise up and hope it doesn’t go too far down because there have been years it was so low that the fish didn’t enter in numbers like they otherwise would have.

Ottawa did it today! Sitting at 15 degrees at 2pm which is a record. The warmest February day ever recorded here. Looks like the cold front is a few hours away.......
