Here are some renderings from the article. Looks amazing. It'll be on the second floor where Sirens used to be. Love that it's a corner space. I don't remember seeing a shoe store in a corner space.

kevinbottawa is this photo of Browns Shoes in this 'Retail Insider' the shoe shop in the Rideau Centre? I did know that they were going to open a Browns Shoes on the 2nd floor in the Rideau Centre right beside Terra20, but I did not know that the shop Sirens was located there. The photo of Browns Shoes shop looks quite nice. I hope that they sell very good quality shoes to last a long time.

If memory serves me right, the original incarnation of Town Shoes was actually a corner store where the Coach store is currently situated.
The Aldo store at the Rideau Centre is a corner location.
Also, the signs are up for the new H&M store(s) on the first and second floor, and its going to be MASSIVE.
Mykl, I walked by the Rideau Centre expansion the other day and I saw the H &M signs to on the expansion. Are the clothes from H&M good quality? Once these shops are opened in the expansion, I will be interested in having a lookto see what they sell.

H&M is a fast fashion store, their clothing is cheaper and a lower quality that allows them to quickly get new clothes to the store based on fashion trends. I don't shop there often but when I have the clothing has lost its shape a little bit after a few wears and washes. In my opinion the Bayshore store is a little disorganized with high amount of clothes, hopefully the Rideau location will be better.

My red and white shorts had a big hole and I needed to throw it away. I might go to the H & M store and get a new pair of red and white shorts anyway. I do not want to buy something so expensive, because I just use them for walking and to do work around the house.

Most of the stuff I bought from H&M 3+ years ago is still in a very viable condition and I still wear it. Quality isn't exactly at the top but it works. Some items aren't as well made as I'd like but considering I bought some t-shirts for the equivalent of C$3 when I bought them and am wearing one as I type...I'm not too worried about spilling something on it but it's good for long days at uni
Same with me, I have quite a few H&M pieces which have lasted me numerous years, trick is to avoid throwing them in the dryer, and instead hanging them to dry. Its not the washing that affects clothing, its the drying.

I throw mine in the dryer all the time too. Never had an issue.

Also, it looks like Squish (Candy store) will be opening at the Rideau Centre as well according to some recent job postings on indeed.ca. I've only been to the location in the basement of the Bay at the Eaton Centre in Toronto; the candy is pretty good although a little on the pricey side...
As I understand it, the top floor escalator landing remains the same, but the theatre was mostly demolished and rebuilt as a much larger building. There is a small courtyard/restaurant area up there, but otherwise the 'theatre level' is all Simon's menswear, and extends from where the theatre was, all the way to Nicholas.

Weren't the movie theatres more to the left side than on the right side near where the Simon's was? Where did you hear that, mykl that the mens' section was going on the place where the former cinemas use to be? I know that they put elevators where the ticket office use to be and put window where the big CINEMA sign was. When I went there two weeks ago and I saw the opening of the former cinema space, it looked pretty empty to me. Show me some photos to prove it!

The space previously used by the cinemas is currently empty and will remain empty for the foreseeable future. There are no plans to re-open it as a cinema. The cinema used to be located behind that black tiled wall to the left of the elevators.
The area occupied by Simons is solely in the new development.
