Is that the area with Starbucks and Shoppers in it?

Interesting.. Never heard of this chain, but looking at their website found that they have a couple locations in the Vancouver area.

I may be out of the loop but just noticed this past weekend that Robins location on Topsail Rd (former Pizza Hut building) seems to be closed permanently. The signs are removed from the building and brown paper covers all the windows.

The Robins that opened on Cashin Avenue about 18 months ago is listed as permanently closed as well.

I’m not really a coffee drinker so I don’t know how good (or bad) their coffee is. I know their donuts always tasted stale to me, like their shelf life was long past.

The coffee is bad, but honestly not much more worse than the shit Tim Hortons coffee that everyone seems to love.

Robins doesn't seem to have a clear strategy and/or are aggressive enough to take on Tim's.

They don't have a modern uniform store design...which I think is important for restaurant chains. They also seem to just back out as soon as there is any competition. I believe there was a Robins in Witless Bay that basically just shut down as soon as the Tim's opened.

The Robin's in Witless Bay was huge with a large parking lot. The Tims that opened nearby was no bigger than a phone booth attached to a gas station.

There apparently 3 more locations planned however. Torbay near Jack Byrne, old Fortis Building downtown, and next to the Rock Steakhouse by the airport.

RJ Pinoy used to be located in the strip mall on Ropewalk Lane. Wonder if they moved or opened a second location.

Given how close it is, I'm gonna guess they moved. Their food is awesome by the way.

Not sure if this has been posted here but I noticed a Robin’s Donuts sign on the Royal on Water building downtown, visible from the Harbour Drive side

Heard this was going in the building. There’s also supposed to be a steakhouse going in there.

Does anyone know what is going into the old RONA building on Topsail rd in Paradise? Seems to be a lot of activity there lately.

Shouldn’t this RONA discussion be in the retail thread, not in the restaurant thread?

LOL.... I just realized this was the restaurant and not the retail thread. Maybe best to morph the discussion over to that one.
