The Granary district already permits about 12-14 stories. The area between 400 South and 900 South and about 350 West to I-15 allows a maximum height of 150 ft. Affordable housing incentives allow for 3 additional stories above that (so about 190 ft).

Central City East Update - The Trolley North Project

Trolley North is an off-campus student housing project located in Salt Lake City, Utah. The 1.48-acre site is conveniently located between downtown Salt Lake City and the University of Utah campus. Also, just steps from the 400 So. Light Rail and Historic Trolley Sq. The popularity of the area is evident as literally thousands of new residential units have and continue to come online as quickly as construction labor availability will allow. This particular project is a 7- and 8-story student living community with basement-level parking connected to it. The project also includes approximately 3,000 SF of commercial space at ground level and houses 562 beds in 239 units with 336 parking spaces.

I've been following this thread long enough to see that these things are cyclical. Right now things are slow. I am for anything, SLC Development related, that keeps the conversation going.

Yes it is annoying. Just like their tying the funding of the Delta Center renovations + the potential MLB ballpark to the hockey team and the MLB team calling itself 'Utah' and not Salt Lake.

It's quite remarkable how big of an inferiority complex the state has toward Salt Lake. Hell, I'm surprised they didn't force Salt Lake to rename SLC International Utah International Airport.

Thanks for the tip. The only thing I found was a confirmation of this from the meeting minutes of a County Council meeting from August 12th:

Last week, the County selected MHTN Architects and Populous as its architects. MHTN is a local firm and Populous is a national firm, based out of Kansas City. Populous has designed convention facilities, sports arenas, and big builds. MHTN and Populous are entering into contracts now, so the County will sign with them soon.
