I really have to thank all the hard-cores on this site for all the detailed information and educated guesses. It's really impressive to see you guys dig up permits from NYC.gov, or render buildings next to other buildings to compare, and so on.
Anyhow, white marble? Bleh, so tacky IMO. But if the floor of the lobby is all I can think of to complain about, then everything is A-O.K.
I lived in a house that was built in 1961 that had pretty much that exact same marble on it's window sills....I loved it. That marble is a very high quality marble. I think it is a classic design that will never go out of style.

What do you mean? the one with those white plates?
yes....i think those are microwave antennas. there are some versions that show the antenna covered w/ some faceted covering that you could argue are congruous w/ the original crystalline vision liebeskind had. not to be i guess.
“Office buildings are our factories – whether for tech, creative or traditional industries we must continue to grow our modern factories to create new jobs,” said United States Senator Chuck Schumer.
I saw cranes moving toward one side of the tower this morning, maybe steel this week, read that all the workers on tower one moved to tower four these last few weeks to help with the setback. Now I think they have gone back to tower one and we can soon see construction continue.

the cranes are always moving....steel this week? i dunno

One World Trade Center's next victim, Bank of America Tower, 1,200 feet tall: Will take Fourth Tallest Building in the USA very soon, BOA will be booted back to fifth
Could someone make a comparison picture with owtc and the original world trade center?, like the one with Empire State Building and owtc, dont know how to do it myself. anyway im new here, great forum
I have loved following this thread finally decided to register. I visited New York in early January and was so impressed with how completely 1 WTC dominates the skyline. I was staying near Kennedy airport and from the air train 1 WTC stands out like a beacon. Amazing!
I love the comparison pictures as well, so many great large buildings going up in NYC lately. I had always been fascinated with the skyscraper races of the 1920's and its great to see similar enthusiasm and criticism in the present day. I definitely enjoy seeing the building passing the others in town, it will be a pretty emotional moment when it passes the Empire State to crown 1 WTC the tallest building in the city again.
A big thanks to those of you who have taken the time to upload pictures you have taken, and its great to get almost hourly reports on progress or in some cases lack thereof.
