Bigger and bigger; taken by me on Thursday. Cold outside, but you wouldn't know it from the picture.

Anyhow, white marble? Bleh, so tacky IMO. But if the floor of the lobby is all I can think of to complain about, then everything is A-O.K.
I lived in a house that was built in 1961 that had pretty much that exact same marble on it's window sills....I loved it. That marble is a very high quality marble. I think it is a classic design that will never go out of style.

yes....i think those are microwave antennas. there are some versions that show the antenna covered w/ some faceted covering that you could argue are congruous w/ the original crystalline vision liebeskind had. not to be i guess.

Steel soon???

I saw cranes moving toward one side of the tower this morning, maybe steel this week, read that all the workers on tower one moved to tower four these last few weeks to help with the setback. Now I think they have gone back to tower one and we can soon see construction continue.

I have loved following this thread finally decided to register. I visited New York in early January and was so impressed with how completely 1 WTC dominates the skyline. I was staying near Kennedy airport and from the air train 1 WTC stands out like a beacon. Amazing!

I love the comparison pictures as well, so many great large buildings going up in NYC lately. I had always been fascinated with the skyscraper races of the 1920's and its great to see similar enthusiasm and criticism in the present day. I definitely enjoy seeing the building passing the others in town, it will be a pretty emotional moment when it passes the Empire State to crown 1 WTC the tallest building in the city again.

A big thanks to those of you who have taken the time to upload pictures you have taken, and its great to get almost hourly reports on progress or in some cases lack thereof.

Not sure what's going on in the lower left corner of 1WTC, but it's a test shot, so quality settings are lower. so whatever.

One bad-ass shot with the plumes of steam on left. Great shot, Carlos.
You get this from the 59th St. Br.?
