Appears the Snowbird Tower is still under review with the planning department. The application was last updated on July 22 with a request for additional information from the developer, with a deadline of August 12. This has been happening regularly since May. https://aca-prod.accela.com/SLCREF/Cap/C...35&agencyCode=SLCREF&IsToShowInspection=
Been a while since I checked in. I saw a lot of discussion about SLC's pipeline. I don't have much to add except things are slow because deals aren't penciling out for developers. Escalating costs and slower rent growth play a big role. But also the debt markets are tight. I can see considerable easing over the next year in all 3 of these aspects, which might help deals start moving forward again. Let's hope there are no more significant economic shocks to stop that from happening.
The comment from Kensington's President of Development about plans for taller buildings east of State St. most likely refers to Dart's site at the NE corner of 200 S and 200 E. I have also heard they are looking at a taller tower, though I'm not sure if the rumors about it being over 500' are current. Kensington is not currently looking at any firm plans for either of its sites (Burt Bros and Brighton Bank).

Salt Lake Reimagined . . . with a giant walkway in the sky?
Since tower development news is a little slow right now, thought I'd share this really interesting visualization of Salt Lake City I found . . . with a giant elevated walkway 100 feet in the air. Connecting a half dozen skyscrapers that don't exist, and replacing 3-4 that actually do exist. I've seen some pretty ambitious renderings for fantasy Salt Lake before, but this one certainly wins for most unique. Apparently it even won some rewards a couple years back. Interesting stuff. I just wonder why it was created in the first place. Architect practice?

Flooding downtown with 15 copies of 111 Main is an award-winning idea?
I remember when these were released a few years ago. It was definitely an interesting concept but certainly not something Salt Lake would ever adopt. Feels more like what you'd see in a South American or European city to be honest.
