Another idea would be to ban Internet Properties from conducting business in SLC.

I don't think the LDS Church has announced their plans for that site.

This video makes it sound like the interior arena renovation will be complete with all sight lines fixed by next season. I'd heard before that they were fixing one side of the interior this summer and the other side next summer. Anyone know what the real plan is?

I think the plans changed and they're doing the lower bowl this year and next year the upper.

Found this cool graph of rent prices relative to housing construction in the midwest for those of you who also argue with friends and family about this stuff from time to time. Wish we had a west/mountain west version. It is from this article

The graph on the right says so much. Minneapolis was 'controversial' a few years ago for zoning reform that encouraged building and it has worked out wonderfully for them

Would love to see where Salt Lake City is on that chart, though it might be better if it's 3 years down the line, as I think the leveling off or decline in rent prices here only occurred in the last year to year and a half.

I think that this is good.

I wouldn't worry though, there are a multiple projects planned in the near future that will surpass 500'. SEG will have a tower that will be close to 600' and another over 400'. Kensington CEO mentioned at least 2 at 550' in the pipeline, and there is also the West Quarter towers.

With a tall building being proposed in Boise, this is good for Salt Lake as it means that projects are starting to move forward again and I can see this being a great benefit for SLC.

Lol. We gonna feel like that insecure older sister jealous of her younger sister for having bigger boobs.

An old girlfriend of mine who was from Chicago always mistook photos of Boise for photos of Salt Lake, even after she lived in SLC for half a decade.

Sure hope these are glass towers with some sort of architectural appeal vs an entire blank / concrete wall running down the entire north side.

How are well are thing’s leasing and renting out at the Astra tower? I would feel better about 2 towers in the pipeline if Astra was doing well. Any updates about that kind of information?

I've been thinking about this for a while, and I don't know how to get this to the right people. So, I'm trying on here. What if Ryan Smith brought his Qualtrics HQ from Seattle to downtown SLC to help bolster his new entertainment district? Here's their 38-story tower in Seattle:
