If we were to have another legit winter storm, and they had the whole sail lit blue, we could call it the Iceberg.

This is how the independent should have been.

Yes, I have a feeling this will be lit ALL the time, unlike 90% of our towers.

Well this is also an office tower, unlike the independent and others that slacked off on their lighting. So it will have a real management company in charge of overseeing it, unlike the minimal amount that condo management companies do.

So like 100 congress, 111 congress, and the Frost tower, this seems more likely to have constant lighting.

Now it reminds me more of a shark fin than a sail.

With the skies clear today, it should be a good night to see this tower all lit up.

Google occupies 75% of the space in Midtown Atlanta's new 1105 West Peachtree tower (31-stories/675,000 RSF). They have a rotating rainbow of colors illuminating the building (similar to Google's logo). I wouldn't be surprised if something similar is instituted with Block 185.

Viracon runs a production cycle quarterly, meaning they take orders up to a certain point before manufacturing begins for those orders. If you order glass today, they may not begin manufacturing for several months.

With labor shortages and covid they could behind schedule with even longer lead times.

This is information of which glass companies are aware, and as glass is prone to breaking there is usually more ordered than needed. Most large buildings have what is called "attic stock", which is where this "extra" glass is stored.

Oftentimes a standard size of glass is chosen in a building, so a large percentage is all the same size. Maybe they didn't order enough extra, or these windows that broke are not of the "standard" size, and must be reordered since they're a custom size.

Though I might add those windows seem to be what would be a standard size on the West side of the building. I am surprised there wouldn't be replacement glass on site.

Pretty much an instant icon for the city. I think that Frost will still be the most well known tower of ours but this one is going to catch up fast for leaving an impression on visitors, especially given its prominent spot and the fact that Frost is going to be blocked from so many angles.

Though the panels are the same size, the curvature might not be the same and I could imagine each row having a custom order.

I highly doubt the glass itself is curved.

I agree. It looks like they are just leaning inward.
