Great project. More lowrise buildings like that (2-5 storeys) where old single-family homes once stood will do wonders for the overall ambience of Corydon.

Can anyone on here comment on Deseo vs Segovia vs Bistro 7 1/4? I'm in town for a few days coming up and have heard great things about all three of these.

Bistro 7 1/4 is not the same anymore since Alex Svenne left. Avoid. In Ferno's is an adequate bistro substitute.

Deseo is OK, but Segovia is better in terms of food and ambience.

7 1/4 is under new ownership and is not nearly as good as it used to be. I'd skip it.

Segovia is pretty good, but won't take a reservation. Spanish style tapas menu. Not my favorite, but a cool location and funky space. In Osborne Village.

Deseo is fantastic. Small plates, tapas style, but lots of unique fusion items. A small room where a reservation is a must. I highly recommend it. South Osborne.

Thanks! I was leaning towards Deseo so this was helpful.

It has a location in Terminal 3 at Pearson. If you ever fly through there you've likely eaten at the restaurant before.

It's actually Fionn McCools. Not sure of the exact pronunciation, but whatever. Took over the old Kelsey's space. Typical chain type place from the Prime Pubs line-up. Irish pub theme. I will try one day when I'm in the mood.

Considering Kelsey's and Fionn McCools are part of the same overall group I would not expect things to be significantly different beyond the look of the place.

Can't go wrong with your suggestions for the Corydon strip.

It's really starting to transform once again, even the renos/facades of existing buildings are changing the look of the street once again, now lets hope they'll build up a storey or two when the opportunity arises.

I eat there whenever I am in the departure area of YYZ T3, which is often. The food is just fine, even for the money.

Should be the final nail in the coffin for Mr B's. Too bad the new owners ran it into the ground. I've made better pizza in my microwave on hamburger buns than what they make now.

Can't find it on their web site anymore but a few months ago it said there was going to be 5 of them in Winnipeg. I had heard that one of the locations was going to be just north of Chief Peguis trail on the East side of Main St.

Mr.b's used to be the cats pajammas. I wish I could taste a beef n' side bacon pizza again. It's shame. But I noticed a decline even under the daughters ownership. Increasing amount of big air bubbles in the crust. I wonder...were the recipes included in the sale? If so..why doesn't somebody tell them to cook the pizzas the exact same way it was with same ingredients . I know I would go back.

Any time the original owners step away something changes and not always for the better.

I was at Garbonzo's on Pembina last Firday and now that Canad Inns owns the name and recipes its not as good as when it was a separate chain back in the 80's
