I am hearing from other sources now that the new NHL team will be called the ‘Manitoba Moose’. Sucks a bit actually. I’ll go to the games but I won’t wear the merchandise. Moose? It’s too typical Canadian ehh? Hoser.

Looks like that original info is from here and here. As mentioned before, season ticket prices must really skew those numbers.

other sources say Jets will be Manitoba Moose. I suppose they are too cheap to order different uniforms?

.. And are these your sources or are these other sources that link you just posted?

Relax man, wait until it all happens. I can say even people I know of in the know are not 100% sure what's going to happen in the end. 99% maybe but 100% no.

If the Coyotes move back to Winnipeg, they better be called the goddamn Winnipeg Jets.

If nothing else if by chance it is still yet to be determined and anyone is looking at this site from the Chipman camp, let it be known at the very least people of this city want the cities name in our NHL team. Winnipeg is the butt of jokes all over this continent and for once it gives us a chance to attribute our name to something professional, first rate and yet OURS. And yes the Jets name is known the world over so keep that too. Winnipeg doesn’t need a second rate AHL name on it’s NHL team. Half the city over night would buy Jets named logo things. I for one would fly a Jets flag in my yard but I sure as heck wouldn’t fly some Moose. Think about it Chipman people the Winnipeg Jets name and it’s logo have a recognition rate many many many times greater than the Moose...Moose a name they got from the Minnesota team anyhow. The MTS centre is the smallest around, don’t make the name second rate as well.

A big seller for the Oilers the last couple of years have been the "retro" 80s jerseys with names like Gretzky, Messier, and Kurri on the back. I can just imagine Winnipeg fans buying up "retro" 70s and 80s Jets jerseys with names like Hawerchuk and Hull on the backs if NHL returns to Winnipeg.

But if they call their new NHL team some other name, they'll totally blow that fantastic marketing opportunity.

It its not the Jets, I'll probably pass.

Goldwater announces plan to sue Glendale
By: Tim Campbell

BOCA RATON, Fla. — The Goldwater Institute has announced it will file suit against the City of Glendale as soon as its deal to finance the sale of the NHL’s Phoenix Coyotes closes.
The group has been undecided for weeks, claiming it hadn’t yet seen all the documents surrounding the deal. It said in a press release late today that Glendale released 391 more pages just today.

It's hugely ironic that Glendale is spending hundreds of millions of dollars on a team that does not bear it's name.

My guess is Winnipeg will average at least $65.00 for an average ticket.

This is probably 85% true.

excellent article from NBC sports no less, suggesting if the city gets an NHL team they call it the ‘Winnipeg Jets’ and nothing else.

I agree with the fact that especially if the Coyotes are going to relocate, TNSE is missing the ball

but at the same time I have come to terms with the reality as it has been known for over a year now that they're not going to be the Winnipeg Jets.

TNSE are extremely intelligent. They have their reasons.

read the last article i posted though...they are being overly corporate. Smart people can sometimes be small minded.
