Has anybody got any idea what the new Amazon fulfillment and sortation centers in baton rouge/Port Allen will mean for us when it comes to shipping times? I use my family's account for Amazon and my parents moved to Houston a few months ago. It's so frustrating to see things say they can be delivered in a few hours and then switch to my address and it's 4 days. Would really like to catch up to the rest of the country on this.

River District meeting held tonight. Seems like a sign of progress even if movement is slow. Most information seems not to have changed since the initial presentation, but they did include information on the market street power plant as a future development phase.

Another Whole Foods or Trader Joes would make a killing there in the first phase. I know it was very unofficial but I'm curious if the Pelicans could get a space for a new arena incorporated into the project.

fully agree! I feel like as each day goes by, I'm increasingly frustrated that there is no TJ's in Orleans parish. I can't help but think how pretty much every major city has one in their city boundaries, not the suburbs (Metairie).

This story is very upsetting. Why would anyone want to be a developer in New Orleans after reading the city gives approval then takes it away? Also, neighbors need to realize the city will never grow, it will just stagnate, if they think 6 story buildings are too big. Especially on prime riverfront acreage.

^ This sucks, but it happens all the time in most cities not named Houston.

Side note: I hate the at-large seats on Council. Most times these exist as a way to dilute minority power.

Kristen Palmer has been the consistent link in all of this. She has killed quite a few projects in her time. Glad shes gone!
