AB InBev owns several breweries that have expanded with more taprooms and restaurants after their purchase, the best known is probably Goose Island. I had to go back to Wikipedia to get my timeline straightened out - AB InBev bought the brewery in 2011 and since then they've taken it worldwide with restaurants and breweries. I used visit the taproom in Old Town once or twice a week for a beer and they don't seem any different from back then - 2009?

From that article: "In Europe, post AB-Inbev acquisition, Goose Island Beer is brewed at the InBev brewing facilities in Belgium."

Wasn’t there a club in Scottsdale that closed down that was called The Mint Ultra Lounge? So maybe something similar to that?

Presuming it's not some friendly artsy place like the one in Tampa, I think there's a difference between not liking the sound of something compared to what it could bring for the area.

That being said, having been to the Mint, even though "ultra lounges" were never my thing, I rather liked it--was a nice place.

Look like it is going to be a gym still: permit filed a few weeks ago for Track Club Gym: http://apps-secure.phoenix.gov/PDD/S...ype=PlanReview
Also, the Alexander Building Company Inc listed on the permit has a one drive folder with all of the project info: https://onedrive.live.com/?authkey=%...27EC47C00A6F8C

Well that's a damn bummer

Switching gears, here's the agenda for DVC this Saturday:
  • Downtown Community Development Funds ~ Jeff Sherman (10 minutes)
  • FireHouse (Hance Park) RFP ~ Heather Rasmussen, City of Phoenix CED (20 minutes)
  • American Legion Post #1 RFP (selected developer) ~ Heather Rasmussen, City of Phoenix CED (30 minutes)
  • ZA-227-21 re 2816 N. 7th Ave. (Duke’s Photography) ~ JB Baber, HP & Neighborhoods Subcommittee (20 minutes)

It looks like the FireHouse RFP is not up yet on the City's website but really want to see an awesome concept go there. Also, the selected bid for American Legion Post #1 RFP is crap so not expecting much there lol

Have we ever gotten anything from an City of PHX RFP lately? Seems like we're 0-4 or something like that. I'd imagine we need much more demand for real-estate downtown before these start turning decent proposals that actually get built.

Thank you for posting the links!

So it appears the gym will occupy the back portion of the Desoto building, with an entrance/check-in off the alleyway, whereas the Central-facing portion will remain unchanged, possibly for the upcoming 'Tru Ultra Lounge. If anyone checked out the Track Club for the 2 weeks it was with us, that front portion was a lounge. If I read the site plans correctly and it remains as existing, we could be getting two businesses in this building.

^ That's ... honestly something I thought was a possibility. It actually makes a lot of sense to have a multipurpose room (getting some strong elementary school vibes) given that people don't do yoga at 1 AM and it doesn't make any sense to rip out the extensive bar installation that were in the permits if built.

The fact that the sign and the permit are ostensibly at odds with each other makes it seem like something pretty cool could be happening here.

Construction is unbelievably expensive right now. I'm sure that just about everyone has gone back to the drawing board. They'll be back. I'm ready to do an addition to my house and both contractors I like are booked into next year and I'm absolutely positive that this is the case across the construction industry, not just with custom home contractors. hard to build when nobody has time for you.

They've actually been doing minor site work for a couple weeks now on 1 section of the lot. I had a feeling we would see a full fence soon!

Now we just need to see an updated rendering to really know whether or not we'll be pleased with this development!

On the Palm Court subject both proposal had an attached garage to the tower not a podium so shouldn't this go up faster then the ones with the tower above the podium?
