I must have manifested Tulane Ave and Banks St hahaha. I asked about them, and sure enough, you post updates on 2 new developments for both!

But for real, that Tulane Ave restaurant looks awesome. I wonder what the restaurant will be and how this will impact the big blighted property across the street. Is it still supposed to be a Honda Service Center?

Also, LINDY BOGGS?! WHY IS THIS NOT BIGGER NEWS?!?

The good thing is while Jaeger is the main owner, he is not the one really spearheading the development. There is a very competent team behind this project so barring some gigantic unforeseen issue that is out of their control, it will happen but since they are using a number of different sources of funds include HUD loans it will take some time to line up all the money before they break ground.

Placement of a shipping container on Constance Street to house the contents of an art installation in conjunction with Prospect New Orleans. The container box is 8’ tall x 8’ wide and 13’ long. The container is a 1980’s military communication bunker that will be transformed into a walk in, kaleidoscopic gathering place. Two large doors open up one end completely, and in the center of the long wall, a large ocular window and a small skylight mix the interior view with outside. Rather like inhabiting a camera or an observation portal, viewer and subject are delightfully and curiously misplaced and complicated. Nature and techno-organic reflections and interactions create a rich, contemplative chord, affecting human perception and behavior.

Clearview Mall Updates

Anyone know where they are building this on the mall property or anything else on it:

Groundbreaking set for apartments at Clearview City Center
By: CityBusiness staff reports November 16, 2021 0

Developers of a $100 million “live, work, play” project at Clearview Mall in Metairie are breaking ground on an apartment complex.

Groundbreaking is scheduled Thursday for the five-story, $55 million community dubbed “The Metro at Clearview.” It will have 270 units that average 925 square feet in space and cost between $1,500 and $3,000 per month. The developer is Audubon, an Atlanta-based company that owns and operates multifamily properties including the American Can apartments in Mid-City and several other properties in Metairie, Westwego, Baton Rouge and Bridge City.

The complex is slated for completion in the summer of 2023, a news release said.

The community also will feature two courtyards, a resort-style pool and cabanas, a yoga lawn, lounge area, grilling stations, sitting area and a Zen garden. Other amenities include a 2,000-square-foot clubroom with multiple seating and entertainment areas, a catering kitchen, a fully furnished fitness center and a sky lounge on the fifth floor that will overlook Clearview City Center.

Other phases of the development that have begun work include Ochsner Health’s “super clinic” in the former Sears building. A Regions Bank branch has opened at the intersection of Clearview Parkway and Veterans Boulevard.

The redevelopment of the 50-year-old Clearview Mall was unveiled in December 2019. Plans call for a hotel, a 14,000-square-foot green space for outdoor events and concerts, open-air restaurants and around 100,000 square feet of commercial office space for lease. Construction began in September 2020.

The new amenities would co-exist with the center’s existing anchor tenants: Target, Bed Bath & Beyond and AMC Theaters, Zea Rotisserie and Walk-On’s Bistreaux and Bar.

As always, thanks for all the updates Tennis! That gas station on Clairborne should really enhance that intersection from what's currently there.

Also love to see Second Line Stages having another big expansion!
