As neighbors of Vancouver House, we got a notice today of a proposed zoning change to permit a 3,440 sq ft distillery so Long Table Distillery can relocate from 1451 Hornby to 1462 Granville. That space is in the Vancouver House retail space between the off ramps. Anyone been to their current location?

^^^ Thanks for the heads-up.

I wonder if that's in anticipation of redevelopment at the old site.
Does anyone know if a developer owns the lot that abuts Burrard & Pacific?

Interesting to see what the market will price units at now. Article about the assignment listings here:

I also noticed that new curbs have been poured on Pacific at Howe.
From the pics above, there looks to be a wide bike lane.

The City has already pre-designed proper sidewalk and dedicated bike lanes from here all the way to Burrard Bridge on both sides of Pacific, to tie in to the bike lane further west of Burrard. The road landscape here is going to look pretty good when completed.

I believe the bike lane on the south side of Pacific here will be a2-way bike lane, which might explain the width.

But why 497 feet? Couldn't they cement over a case of beer or maybe a 3 foot hummingbird feeder to round it up to 500? I know were supposed to think metric but golf courses, football fields, hockey player height & weights still use feet and yards and 100 Mile House hasn't changed so either do I.

because we are in Canada. we use the metric system like the rest of the world. we just happen to use a lot of imperial since we are next to the Americans, biggest economy in the world and our largest trading partner.

you can use whatever you want, but this is Canada.

Drove over the bridge today and the low rise components give an interesting and exemplary intro to downtown. I think they will be a more powerful, or at a MIN a complementary, gateway to downtown than/to the towers.
