Edmonton is much colder than Hoth.

That would be awesome. Just bought shares in a rubberband factory.

Love Empire. But seriously, I'm not sure what is dumber. Slow ass walkers or Luke leading an aerial attack on the only side with guns. Go for the legs from the ass end!

Of note: there's a partial glimpse of the rarely-seen Downtown Eastside at the end:

Maybe these should go in the future canadian skyline thread?

I can't remember seeing that angle before. In my opinion, I should be seeing it all the time.

As much as I love deciduous trees, we could benefit from more evergreens for the winter time The picture above looks wildly different in the summer with the canopies of trees.

/\ agreed - not the most flattering time of year for city pictures! That shot is cool, impressive and yet depressing all at the same time! It’s a good picture and great perspective to start with and shows the long by narrow strips of high rise density that leads to the downtown core. It also reveals the rather utilitarian nature of most of the foreground development (but you can say that about any city) and how much work is still required to make the streets an interesting pedestrian realm. Having spent a ton of time in Edmonton for work I’ve always found the pedestrian experience was really lacking - for a bunch of reasons, although improvements have been made. Less than ideal weather from October through April explains a lot.

Although really, it's only natural that the cityscape would look bleak after the tremendous destruction seen in the previous pictures.

Gorgeous images of Montreal. I can always appreciate the grit shown from some angles....these new buildings going up prove an interesting contrast as well with their much older neighbouring buildings.

There's somethig realy nice about that image looking from Oliver toward Downtown Edmonton. I see a lot of potential in that neighbourhood in the foreground, hopefully more proposals will come in for that area.
