What’s worse is they’ve built a bike path on the street to prevent any parking for non residents now. They’ve also blocked road access to thru traffic. The biggest NIMBY neighbourhood in the city. The Mcmansion on the left has illegal no parking signs on their astroturf lawn.

Never heard it described that way before but that seems accurate. Also resembles a bank or cult compound. I hate that house so much. The Calgary construction forum over the last several years has consisted of little more than daily updates of that place being built by one forumer with a terrible camera phone.

Of course, I would as too busy griping to note that it's a very nice photo. Beautiful sky. Thanks for posting, Chad.

those rainy moody Vancouver pics look amazing. Vancouver is just in its own league with its natural setting.

Haha I have heard multiple people say the same thing! Including myself. When viewed in detail, it looks like a fucking Bond villain’s lair. Like, the house is “protected” by a super easy to lightly-hop-over fence, and the pathway up to the main doors is lined by propane fire. Like literally actual fire. Who even the fuck are these people?

It's gotta be W. Brett Wilson's oil-fueled compound, I'm sure of it.

Toronto skyline across the lake from Hamilton (about 50 km distance), published in the local newspaper Nov 16.

Wow, the lake level is high!

Perfect proof that the Earth is flat right. You wouldn't be able to see Toronto if it was a globe

Plus all that rain on the west coast must be trickling eastward by now.

Moody, rainy (and occasionally sunny) Vancouver part 3

Lynn Valley Mall in North Van. I used to work there. It used to be a sea of parking lots. I like the revamping they did.

In deep cove I used to live in a condo surrounded by virgin rain forest. Now it's these duplexes.

Good view of downtown Van, which I must say doesn't particularly stand out compared to Burnaby's other skylines, at least from this angle.

Not sure which one of Burnaby's 18 billion town centre skylines this is. But I'm guessing metrotown?
