It may be 4. I don't count 2 story lofts as a separate floor though as they don't add to total units or people counts.

Oh, I almost forgot. Here's phase 2 of Portrait (3rd St and Willetta). Nothing spectacular, but OK looking. Five floors wrapped around more parking.

I'm glad they went with a different color scheme rather than just mirror phase 1.

My apologies. I was mistaken this for the mid-rise thread. Mods can move if needed. Thanks!

I noticed a new "Stop the Tower Height=Blight" sign at the corner of Central and Osborn today. I assume, like last time, they are referring to the condos at Phoenix Country Club.

I've seen the same sign recently at Central and Camelback. At first, I though it was in reference to a proposed project at that corner, but I think you're right. It's probably just the next round in the country club fight.

This is ridiculous. It's already been knocked down to 110'.

Mayor Gallego agrees to adding 500 more beds for the downtown shelter (with conditions). This plus plenty more on the homelessness issue:

Good job by this reporter of covering the details of the mayor's announcement. Most media focused on the altercation involving Nowakowski (mentioned at the end of the article). No one looked good there. Nowakowski was pushing his way into the press conference, and the mayor's aide was literally trying to push him out the door. With Nowakowski's final council term about to end and the mayor facing re-election this fall, I wonder if this incident is a precursor to Nowakowski challenging Gallego on the November ballot.

Phoenix was so different in the 60's. Great video showing how far we've come.

Thanks for sharing. I miss playing golf on the old Mountain Shadows course, had a friend once who lived in that development and we would play the hole behind his house over and over. Lots of fun.

The video shows a huge change in attitude, "Sprawling" as a positive instead of now its usually negative or at best neutral.

I remember the opening of the psycho remake and it has an empty Central Avenue for miles--must've been the weekend--complete with the HOV lanes. I think we're further from that tbqh, Central Phoenix wasn't a disaster in the 1960s like the 1990s.

There's another crane downtown now, it's at 3rd and Fillmore. Driving into the office it feels like I'm surrounded by these things.

Phoenix has a touch of the Craneavirus.

The amount of cranes in the skyline is mesmerizing. Add to that, Derby will be going up and Hines will be getting raised before any current cranes come down.

On a side note, I went Downtown on Saturday and watched them lift the Aspire crane. Weather was perfect for it and I made half a day out of it. Talked to the crew while I was there and the crane is at about 180'. It will be jumped down the road to around 270'.
