It all comes down to density. No more parks, public plazas, blah blah. Let's make this count.

Workers fixing up a lot of the masonry on the Peck Building today. Could the scientologists actually be moving on something?

Unfortunately not...

Masonry fell narrowly missing a friend of mine in the laneway. I think there was a city work order to repair the unsafe loose masonry after that incident this summer.

Need a city work order to do something with the building...

Something has taken up this main floor space in the Wilson Building, 288 McDermot. They've painted all the door and window framing and cleaned up the outside and windows, it looks fantastic. No sign as to what it is going to be, it's papered up right now.

Also, Little Brown Jug is expecting to be brewing by early October and hoping to be open to the public a few weeks later. While I wish they'd have done a full on brew pub, still excited to have a tap room right there. William side of the building looks great, Adelaide side hasn't been touched which leads me to believe they may be doing something on the parking lot there after.

Thanks... that is a great development. It's an ultra-rare example of a downtown Winnipeg project that doesn't involve demolishing an existing building first.

I wish the juliet balconies were colored, like those found on Bldg's other projects. This area needs color.

True. Built on a lot that, as far as I can tell, has been vacant since 1942.

Well we do know the project design was changed, they just never released any more renderings. Here's hoping.

I saw a model of it recently. Not sure if it was a before or after the rendering but it did look better. Had a bit more articulation.

That place is awesome. Great snacks, even better coffee. Nice rooftop bar (although tiny).

Basement bar is awesome as well.

BAR I TAKE NOTE

^ One of the best places in town for a cocktail...there's a great after-dark vibe in there.
