Maybe pivot to more purpose-built rental instead? Heck, throw in a hotel too.

^That site was originally proposed as a 15-unit condo project in 2016. A decade ago!

There have been three rezoning applications for the site submitted since 2016. The 15 unit condo application was approved at Public Hearing on October 17, 2017, but not enacted. A 2020 application for rental was referred to Public Hearing but did not proceed. Both of the prior applications were withdrawn. It looks like the site changed hands at least once. There was another condo building proposed in 2022 that was approved in 2023. Now it's back to rental.

The earliest one was Airey Developments. The last condo proposal approved in 2023 was legally owned by 618 West 32nd Holdings Ltd - who bought the site from Quarry (Cambie) Development Corp (presumably the holding company Airey owned) around 2017.

Previous enhanced rezoning application with two options. Sounds like option 2 with four extra stories on the taller tower

Really impressive scale of change in a short period of time. A lot under construction all at the same time.

Interesting location. Particularly useful as an airport hotel? Only a few blocks from a Skytrain station that whisks you to the airport in 10 minutes.

Minor revision to Onni's Pearson Dogwood project

The City of Vancouver has received an application to amend CD-1 (696) (Comprehensive Development) District to increase the maximum height from 29-storeys to 34-storeys, and to add floor area exclusions for common amenity space, mechanical rooms, and in-suite storage.

Quote:
The text amendment would permit a mixed-use building with the following changes:

An increase in building height from 90 m (295 ft.) to 108 m (354 ft.);
An increase in strata units from 217 to 260 units; and
An increase of the floor space ratio (FSR) from 2.91 to 2.94.
