Very pleased to see this signing. Ryan works hard, is lightening quick and can score.
---

EDMONTON, AB - The Edmonton Oilers have signed forward Ryan McLeod to a one-year contract extension with an average annual value (AAV) of $798,000.

The 23-year-old centreman scored nine goals and 21 points in 71 games during his NHL rookie season in 2021-22, in addition to three goals and one assist in 16 playoff games.

McLeod was selected in the second round (40th overall) at the 2018 NHL Draft. Two of his goals last season came on the power play and one of his nine tallies was a game-winner.

Who's pumped for tomorrow night!

Calgary is going to give us a lot of trouble, as is Vancouver (up an comer), but I am very pleased with the offseason upgrades/changes.

Let's go!

WHEN will the Oilers gel and play a complete game?

as disappointing as the start was, i'll take a 5-3 regular time win over a 0-1 complete game loss.

A W is a W after all, but we should be at a more mature spot in their cycle.

I think we are in a more mature spot. Outside of last year, the previous years' oilers would've curled over and died a slow death after giving a 3 goal lead to an opposition with a potential vezina winning goalie.

New goalie, first game jitters.

The Oilers will be fine.

Unsure the status of this project as this has been going back and forth for a while, but the UofA has been (sadly) contemplating a new rink.

Same old, same old?

We continue to play horrific D/positional play and seem to not want to focus on O-zone control.

Looks like the Oilers are reading their press clippings again and feel they can just show up to games and expect to win.

Unfortunately, thats not how it works, and it is the responsibility of the team leadership group to set the example.

Definitely hit a wall, a Comrie no less, but our D looked lost again and while this kind of game happens once or twice a year, that we could not convert two more is outrageous at this point.

BUT, it's October and while I am tough on the play thus far, I'd rather see it in October versus December.

Sort it out Edmonton, sort it out.

Not a great first 20, again, but we put it together and had a nice diversity of contributions tonight.

Too little, too late and an absolutely horrible PK.

You are going to lose 100% of the time when you let the opposing team go 4/5.

Jesse needs to go, it's time to make room for someone who can do something, anything.

Too any passengers and not a team. The stars cannot win all the games for you.

Yammo is having a hard go as well, but historically he seems to try harder.
