Cancer? Burke's work arguably turned Vancouver into the contenders they've been for the past decade. He Got Anaheim a cup in his second season there, and its clear now that the moves he made in Toronto are coming to fruition.

There's few people I'd rather have over Burke managing my team.

Jeez, this Oiler vs Flame stuff is so annoying to read.

I'm a Leaf fan so I don't like one over the other. I just want as many Canadian teams in the playoffs as possible.

But reading this thread is so annoying. Both teams are doing bad. Oilers had a shot, and it sucks they blew it, but they did. Both teams will miss the playoffs and both teams have been for years. Oilers have the brighter future right now though.

Wow, the complete bitterness coming from some Oiler fans is hilarious! I guess when the Flames help bury their playoff chances, suddenly it's the Calgary fanbase's fault that Edmonton's team has royally sucked donkey balls since 1990.

The big question in my mind is who's gonna pick higher between the 2 teams. Right now I wouldn't be surprised if Edmonton gets ANOTHER top 3 pick.

Yeah some fans who follow any team can be fanatical. Calgary kicked our ass fair and square. If Katz does not see that a total house cleaning of management is due now....then we will continue to be a Gong Show.

The difference is that the Habs already have a great core for the future with Price (even though he is not playing well this season), Subban and Galchenyuk

Pacioretty, Eller, Gallagher are not bad hockey players as well.

Plekanec (30) and Markov (34) are the perfect veterans for the youngsters as well. Both have spend their entire careers with the Habs (Plekanec since 2003, Markov since 2000) and know what wearing this jersey means. I'm not sure the Flames have that now that Iginla is gone. Probably Giordano is closest.

But yeah, Calgary better not mess those picks.

A total house cleaning is in order. You need to get rid of the old boys.

Why did MacT get the job? The Oilers need to let go of the 80's and move the hell on!

Maybe the Flames should get Burke, he has turned every team he has managed into a far better team. Feaster hasn't shown what he can really do yet, so it might be premature to can him.

Calgary doesn't have their second round pick this year, if that's what you mean.

Pretty much a sideways move, not a forward move by the Oilers organization.
And I'd be a little worried about what Mactavish might do to the organization considering he has no GM experience and plans on making moves in a rapid fashion.

Quote:
"I'm an impatient guy. We have to do some bold things to move this team forward in a rapid fashion," said MacTavish.

Well they did score on two power plays so that's not quite true.

They're still playing terrible, though and this time it's not really Price's fault. Their defense is terrible, they're turning pucks over and letting too many guys get in on goal.

What the hell happened to the Habs of earlier this season? I'm pulling my hair out here

Carey Price with another disgraceful showing tonight. For those who are counting, that 9 goals allowed in his last 50 minutes.

I think you guys might a have a little problem...
