Nobody's going to stuff passengers on either the infrastructure or the vehicles without knowing how they perform, and heat is just one aspect.
Again, when have we ever seen train cars be tested for over a full year? Arizona may get hot but there isnt a significant difference between 112 and 118 on the iron steel and concrete that the train is built on. You dont NEED to test a whole year to get a full likely spectrum of weather conditions.

I think you are coming up with excuses in your head.

The fact that you get so irritated when somebody disagrees with you is a classic indication you're not as smart as you think you are. LOL.

I'm done discussing this with you.

So are you saying.

That the weather on the east side of the airport is different then the west side? Who knew? So if this was a weather test for the vehicles couldn't they have purchased more early and tested them on the existing east side of the airport?
Just a thought!

Tomorrow morning starting at 4am. PHX Sky Train stage 2 to set opens. Rental Car shuttle bus will be eliminated. From now on, you no longer ride on rental car shuttle bus. Hop on PHX Sky Train to 24th St station and then Rental Car Center station. Enjoy!

SO this is specifically for TSMC employees, right? Not the general public?

I dont know why I thought this was already discussed on this forum, I know on airliners.net this was discussed in great detail.

This is specifically for TSMC employees only, its flown non stop TPE-PHX, however it returns PHX-LAX-TPE with no passengers.

Its carrying a lot of cargo/equipment for the Fabs
There was a flight every 14 days since November and yesterday was the last until March 11. No other flights have been scheduled yet, hopefully this turns into regular scheduled service.

The article states, "Passenger service is not available on CI005." - I believe that is the outbound flight to Taipei. I am not sure about the inbound flight.

The weird thing was Phoenix actually had Taipei service back in the 1980s. There was a huge international business push and a lot of companies had initially set up branch operations. Not exactly sure why that fizzled out.

The only Asia service PHX had was America West Phoenix-Nagoya (with stop in Honolulu) there was never any other Asia service and this was very short lived.

Hi all,

I already accepted my new jobs. I work for Paradies shops, but I work at outside airport property. I work for warehouse down on the streets. I have a blue badge. I went down into the concourse. I went to see new high D concourse. Wow! I haven't checked it out yet! It's been a while since they opened up by last summer.

Here's a pics.

This is new connector from D gates to A gates. Behind the security checkpoints.

Article about semiconductor stuff but in it it confirmsthe city is trying to get non-stops to Asia from Sky Harbor which is good news!

Quote:
Building off the major investments by companies including Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co., a city of Phoenix delegation is traveling on Friday to South Korea, Japan and Taiwan to further bolster relationships and expand business opportunities.

Phoenix Mayor Kate Gallego and some Council members and representatives from the city's community and economic development department will spend several days in each region to focus on bringing more companies to Arizona and to celebrate existing Sister City relationships. Phoenix is a sister city with Taipei, Taiwan; Himeji, Japan; and Suwon, South Korea.

Gallego said she is also working to secure direct, nonstop flights connecting Phoenix to different Asian countries and regions as the TSMC supply chain of companies continues expanding in the Grand Canyon State to support TSMC and the semiconductor industry. Earlier this year, China Airlines sent its seventh charter flight from Taipei with nearly 300 TSMC employees and their families to Arizona.

“I am excited to be joining this incredible group of cultural and business leaders, elected officials, Phoenix residents, and city staff on what will be an informative and productive trip to key locations in Asia,” Gallego said in a statement. “Our trip will help us expand Phoenix’s global presence, foster meaningful partnerships with cities around the world, and continue our strong efforts in delivering on critical economic drivers back home.”

During her time in Asia, a spokesperson said, Gallego will be meeting with TSMC and various semiconductor supply chain companies while also meeting with the governor of Tokyo, U.S. Ambassador Rahm Emanuel and the mayor of Himeji in Japan; with the mayor of Suwon, the first vice mayor of Suwon and vice governor of Gyeonggi-do in South Korea; and with the mayor of Taipei, minister of foreign affairs and Taiwan Premier in Taiwan.

I've been wondering if TSMC would pressure EVA Air to fly direct to Phoenix. I'm sure there has to be considerable back and forth between Taipei and here. Considering the govt owns/controls the company, I can imagine there would be interest in subsidizing EVA to add Phoenix. Even if it was just a few days a week, it would be great.

Right now they only fly to a few US cities like Houston and LA and Seattle.

IF a route was to be launched for TPE-PHX-TPE it would likely be China Airlines as they are already doing the charters for TSMC.

In addition, there are already rumors of this launch within the next 15 months.

I saw the same thing posted from JohnDekkerTravel on one of JustPlaneFits videos on TikTok. He’s know for being very reputable, also had some input on potential service to Tokyo, will be interesting to see if it happens.

https://www.tiktok.com/@justplanefit...357547?lang=en

JohnDekkerTravel - Two things. #1. Sched service starts in 14 month’s, 5 days a week. #2. The TSMC plant is off the 17 in the North valley

JustPlaneFit - Wait are you serious about #1 is that for real that it will be scheduled service from Taipei to Phoenix? And what about outbound?

JohnDekkerTravel - Yes Sir… and watch AA/JL start PHX-HND or NRT once the two plants are completely running.
