Expected it. But looked forward to it the last couple of years. I was one of the lead out riders. Easy ride and enjoyable.

Not to mention quite the growth of the event and improving level of status...

With the road in front of the convention centre being torn up, they would of had to reroute it.

pretty tight especially for the finish. the start is ok for the full marathon.

The west bound lanes are used for the start of the half and 10km plus are the pass through for the full.

East bound is the full start and every on e finishes on that side.

As for more cancellations, expect every thing this summer and fall to be canceled. hell I didn't even buy a new bike this year knowing that I will not be racing.

H G Cup was a given... it also opens up the arena for 7 teams to play

the world juniors often play to a typical average attendance of 5-6,000 per game (particularly when it is held in locations like Russia).

noting that those averages include the rivalry matches and the final and semifinal matches, there's probably a high proportion of the 64 games played in total that played in front of not many more than "no fans to watch live".

for a typical golf tournament, the live attendance on the first day is a lot less than the live attendance after the cut or on the last day and for many of those on the course there might as well be "no fans to watch live".

it's all about the tv money and the media coverage anyway, not the live gate. besides, i'm a believer that while atmosphere probably counts for something, the pros are pros because they can tune it out. they don't play for the fans watching live, they play to win...

While you may be right, it's going to be weird watching games with no crowds cheering or booing on TV.

I remember the CFL did games on CBC without announcers and that was weird for me to watch.

I guess we'll have to wait and see how they will produce those games.

Edmonton Rock Music Festival cancelled, so those of you pining to see Nazareth perform in Hawrelak Park are out of luck this summer.

maybe they'll just have to give the organists more audio time?

and if they're at rexall place they could give more audio and visual time to the mariachi band (way more entertaining than the overly loud dj selections)!

This seems strange, considering it wasn't supposed to be held until late November. Surely 6.5 months is enough time to plan something like that?

I don't see any announcements online, unless you know something that us mere mortals don't (as usual)
