At 87 feet wide, you could build like 15 townhomes at current developer densities lol

Just to confirm. Demolition is well underway. Major work at the southend working north towards Carling.

Is the atrium that Japanese-inspired pagoda thing? I believe it is supposed to be included in the new development. Not sure if they have to move the building, though.

See rending below:

They are demo'ing inside the main building (not the pagoda thing). They have also ripped off cladding and siding of the building seemingly randomly.

I really like how it ended up looking for the most part. The black windows add a really nice quality touch to it but I have to say the white balcony railing really cheapens the finish look IMO especially the ones on that corner

Strange they didn't go with black to match the window frames.

This one just doesn't do it for me. I'm undecided if it is better or worse than the one across the road at Westgate.

The little shorter one behind looks nice but the tower/podium comes across as just barely better than the "Charcwhite's".

I like it better than the Westgate one. The mullions on Westgate hurt my soul.

Going with the Alibaba glass railings from Icon has ruined the funky balcony slab pattern on this one. It's barely visible.

For sure. This project begged for frosted glass. They made the same mistake as Claridge on Icon.

Demolition is more than 50% complete with a fair amount of clean up to do. Marathon has already moved two large rigs to the site. I overheard the workers discussing things and Marathon will be starting work on the West side. There has been a lull in New project starts most likely due to interest rates and material supply issues so it is nice to see the next phase for this project commencing quickly.

If anyone remembers, this was supposed to have a wood look paneling that got swapped for the random beige brick (they should have just gone all black).

Then they went cheap with the railings ruining the most defining feature, the offset balcony's.

What's the over-under on the next buildings also being disappointing?

The other two towers seem to have podiums and portions of the tower being full on glass floor to ceiling which we know is never the case in Ottawa (save for maybe The Met), so I would place my bets that those sections get swapped out for small windows in charcoal brick or something.
