CBC article with photos of the 4 lane opening of the underpass. Still alot of work left on the east side pedestrian sidewalk and landscaping.

They have now poured the sidewalk north of the tracks on the east side. Have also cleaned up and poured the parking lot curbing of the old surplus store on the corner of Central and Adelaide. Cleanup and landscaping work on the park will likely wait to the spring and this project will be complete.

Generations have waited for this project. Finally done.

Sad to see the ugly graffiti covering the bridge. Would be nice to see all the extra police budget dollars actually result in the people doing this all over the city arrested and named and shamed publicly.

Agreed. I despise graffiti tagging.

What's just as bad is that it's been there for months with no effort made to clean it. You'd think before they were holding a big celebration with media attention, at least one person from the city would've said "um hey don't you think this looks kinda trashy and maybe we should clean it?" What a joke.

There must be some surface coating that impedes permanent spray paint. You'd think science would have come up with something by now.

There are coatings but like anything else, it takes funding and initiative.
