About point c), I hope it's not going to be a blank brick wall. Hopefully they'll put some glass up to give the appearance of windows at least. The former would be rather quite unattractive. This leads me to point f) regarding the improvement in aesthetics of the design - this at least gives me some hope it'll be more than just a blank wall.
I may have said this before, but I'll say it again now.
I don't know if it's just because of the quality of the render but I find aspects of the ground level of the second proposal much better. I don't know the best way to explain it but it looks more inviting or something. The entrance is defined, there are lots of windows and it looks more like a retail space than a hotel. I also like that it's right on the road. The proposal is a bit of a mess though.
The original proposal is much more stark looking. It's difficult to tell where the entrance is and it looks like it could be plopped down anywhere, like on Stavanger Drive.
I still don't understand how you can have a hotel with a entire side being a blank wall. Won't there be hotel rooms on that side of the building? I feel like it's mandatory to have a window in a hotel room..
Or are they planning to have the hallway in the back and rooms on only the front side? Seems kinda silly to essentially cut the number of rooms in half because of some bitchy neighbours
Not sure if it's the angle of the render, but the shape of the building gives it the appearance that it's taller than 35m. I agree, this design is the best so far.
