Volunteers needed!

I'm the volunteer coordinator for the upcoming Winter Shake-Up Festival & Market at Churchill Square on January 30, 2015. It's Edmonton's newest winter festival that will cap off the City of Edmonton's Winter Cities Shake-Up Conference.

Winter Shake-Up will feature a winter market, mulled wine and the winning WinterCity beverages at a family-friendly beverage garden, a snow slide, roving performers, a swing n' skate, light installation, marshmallow roasting, and much more.

To make this new festival a success, we will need the help of approximately 85 fantastic volunteers (aged 13+) to assist with the market area, beverage garden, performers, greeting, set up (Jan 29), tear down, and family programming.

Shifts range from 4 - 7 hours between 9 am and 4 pm on Thursday, 29 January, 2015 (for set up) and during the festival on Friday, 30 January, 2015 between 9 am and midnight. There are lots of different ways and times to be involved!

I would greatly appreciate if you would kindly share this exciting opportunity to participate in the inaugural Winter Shake-Up Festival & Market with your networks.

Should anyone have additional questions, please connect them with me. (email below)

Thank you in advance for any assistance promoting this festival volunteer opportunity you are able to provide.

Thanks and hope to see you on the Square!

There's also Ice on Whyte this weekend. Though I think they should seriously consider rescheduling it permanently because it's always held in the midst of January thaw time.

And of course, the wrap-up party in Churchill Square happens at the same time we're about to get hit by the next Siberian high! Lol!

Winter Marketplace on today from noon to 8pm.

Went at lunch.

Tons of kids, went on the toboggan slide, had a hot apple cider by the fire while listening to some live music and then walked the little shops that were there. It will look great at night.
