Mall Update:

Yves Rocher have opened in their new location near Wal-Mart.

Charm Jewelry have begun renovations

The BellAliant store has begun renos

PretzelMaker is now open in the new "mini food court" next to Sobeys.

Pandora is open

Pseudio is open

Sephora, Swarovski, and Coach will all be opening within a month or so. Sephora has shed its plywood shell but the windows are covered in paper for now.

The mall floor plan now lists Country Lane in the spot where Smart Set was squatting recently...between Danier Leather and Le Chateau

More Champlain Place news:

- Swarovski has now opened. (looks pretty snazzy),
- Things Engraved has now opened in the old Singer Sewing Centre location
- Sephora should be opening any day, perhaps even this weekend.

Indeed, Pandora & Swarovski are quite classy, Coach will look quite high-end too. Charms looked dumpy (throwback to 1993!) and not very refined compared to those, not surprised they are closed for renovations... Champlain needs a Birks!

When I first moved to Moncton in 1989, there were two Birks stores - one in Champlain and the other in Highfield Square. They both closed in the 1990's when the chain downsized.

I did not know Moncton had 2 Birks locations! Wow. We now know where the money is or was... Saint John kept their location. We have La Mine d'Or which is ok.
Saint John has a lot of "old" money, there's a reason why they have Mercedes-Benz and have for many years. I prefer a Benz over a BMW anyday, but that's another discussion.

Where was Birks located in Champlain? I heard that Audi is building a new dealership near BMW/Mini is it true? VW would be moving/building a new dealer next to LaBonté Foods on Champlain. Any truth to this? Usually Audi and VW have separate dealerships, so it does make sense.

In terms of high end vehicles, I think it's a wash. Moncton has BMW and Audi. Saint John has Mercedes and Lexus.

I heard the rumour about Audi as well, and from a pretty reliable source. I don't know about VW.

Moncton has Acura too, which makes 3. However, all things considered; Acura is a notch below BMW, MB, Audi & Lexus. Infiniti is meh.... The only company from Japan that can compare/compete with the Germans is Lexus. I wish Moncton had Volvo, I'm a big Volvo/all things Swedish fan.

When will we see a Jaguar/Volvo/Range Rover dealer in Moncton, with the growth and money coming in Moncton, it's possible, we never know.

Regarding Dieppe Auto, it would be awesome to see a full fledged Porsche dealer with Audi.

I see Porsches in Saint John and i'm curious which dealer is providing them. The closest Porsche dealership is in Halifax.

Fredericton has Volvo!

Wouldn't be surprised if a lot of the Porsches come from the U.S. The rest are probably split between Halifax and the rest of Canada.

There's a good amount of Porsches in Fredericton these days as well. I've seen various 911s (including Turbos), Boxsters, and Caymans lately. I know World Class Auto services some of them. That said, I'm not sure that a Porsche dealer would be viable in NB yet, considering they've only been in Halifax for a few years, and Saskatchewan and London ON just got dealers in the last year or two.

NB is definitely due for an Infiniti dealer, and a Jaguar/Land Rover store would likely do well. Probably wouldn't be combined with Volvo anymore as they are no longer under the same ownership.

Heck there is even a McLaren MP4-12C in Fredericton!

Most impressive/rarest supercar i've seen in Saint John was an Audi R8. Saw a Lotus Elise or two, too. Lots of Porsches, Beemers, and Benzes. A couple of older Ferraris if you look hard. Personally I wouldn't drive that kind of car around here with the state the roads are in.

Porsche won't have a dealership in NB anytime soon but I wouldn't be surprised by a Jaguar/Land Rover in ~3-5 years, probably in Moncton.

Fredericton is also home to an R8 V10, at least one Lamborghini, a brand new Ferrari 458, two brand new 911 Turbos, and at least one Nissan GT-R. Seems like the stigma attached with owning expensive cars here is dying out. The Salesforce/IBM money is certainly helping.

My 550i has the M Sport package, with a twin turbocharged 4 litre V8 delivering 440 brake horsepower. I can blow past 120 km/hr halfway up the highway on ramp without coming near to flooring the accelerator. Mercedes are pussies in comparison. 'nuff said.

Here's a tidbit that may confirm the rumor that Audi is moving. I found out today that Dieppe Auto was purchased by Lounsbury Group a few months ago. Of course Lounsbury owns the BMW/Mini dealer.

Well the cat is out of the bag now. Yes, my source told me that Dieppe Auto has been purchased by Lounsbury's Group and they plan on relocating, expanding and increasing the profile of the Audi dealership (similar to the BMW/Mini division). The plan is to relocate Audi out by GMIA, near the BMW dealership.

I don't really know what the plans are for VW. I believe that at one time, Dieppe Auto also carried Porsche. It would be nice to see them come back. A combo Audi/Porsche dealership would be quite nice. If anybody could pull that off in greater Moncton, it would be the Lounsbury Group.

In many ways it would make sense. Lounsbury's has packaged BMW and Mini quite well together. i think they could do the same with Audi and Porsche......

I agree that it would be a huge win to have a porshe dealer in moncton but i'm not sure if moncton has the population yet. If the population continue growing like it does now, I could easily see a porshe dealership in moncton in maybe less than 10 years!

Also would it be possible to have a benz dealership in Moncton and Saint John or that would be too close?

Btw, theres a dentist in dieppe that owns a Bentley (I think its a continental gt)!
