Thanks for the updates. I never did get around to seeing 17th and Dunbar in person. Good to see the Party Bazaar project break ground in SEFC.

1st avenue social housing project, as seen from Olympic Village:

Closer in: (the old Buster's towing building has been repainted, and will probably be a condo sales office or something)

North side:

Sure caused a lot of traffic chaos and headaches in the area, coupled with all the utility construction happening.

There was some new 'trim' added the past few days to complete the look to the east facing side of the 1st ave social housing project:

1st and Main.
The east and north sides are nearly complete but the other two sides are still unfinished. The bottom retail part is being worked on as well:

You're in for it now. I'm on a work term internship with James Cheng, I'm part of the Green Glass Defence Corps.

Incidentally on the subject of social housing, I've been making lots and lots and lots and lots of massing model schemes for the Little Mountain project. Might take some photos if I ever remember to bring my camera to work.

This is turning out so much better than I expected. I think it was the massing and the fact that it's on its own (so isolated) that made me skeptical about this building but its turning out really well. It'll look great once that area is built out

i dunno how they can afford shiny fiber-cement/metal panel cladding on social housing, while most market condos in this city have exposed/painted concrete. For the precast panels between the windows, they really should have chosen a colour that didn't look exactly like plywood.
