thanks peter

austin, thaks for being honest. you're about right, i see it too.

the beachfront doesnt look good unrendered. the atlantic side of the peninsula had horrible buildings which i deleted, and i haven't connected the port.

good thing's i got my laptop back and i think i'llbe able to do renders again, and some good old buildings too.

ok,this is just my opionon but,

1.,do something with the huge white box. its to,huge and, boxy. I like, but it is just to big

2. the kong center,Idunno, the textures seem to fake and plain, you have some really great textures on alot of buildings, but kongs is just mehh,
and the shape is kinda disproportioned, like patrick said earlier. it goes from huge and fat to really skinny. I alsothink that there may be too many setbacks, also like patrick said.

I think if you changed these things it would look alot better, but thats just me

Yes you're right about the kong center, both the textures and the fat to skinny proportions. The tallest tower of the kong ceter is just to pointy.
The big white AON Chicago looking box? I love it, I'll keept it, It'll look better with a big brand logo and when the skyline fills up.
appreciate the feedback

I'll do an Austin55 styled post:

1. Kong Center, GREAT job, the new tower is AWSOME, looks amazing! Dont change it at all. Plus, I disagree with Austin55's opinion on the textures, I think they fit the towers, but I still think the older 3 are just too disporportioned.

2. Big White Tower, I like it very much, its just, the huge empty spaces, are TOO huge, its like 10 whole empty floors!?

3. Hong Kong IFC Styled tower, I really dont like this tower, IMO I think you should tone down the colors or remove it completly.

4. Two New Buildings, I like both, but I do not like where theyre at, they take away from the spired skyline look, they flatten the skyline, I suggest moving both to a more isocated location or maybe a Midtown?

Thank you Patrick, it's cool to hear your thoughts.
By Kong Center I mean the original trio, I do think the tallest of them is disproportionate. The new fourth tower is fine.

The AON huge box... yeah, they're like 8 floors of what? machinery? you're right, I'll scale it down a little bit.
I really like my H.K IFC rip off, but the colors are too extravagant, plus it lacks a base, oh and it weight a ton! perhaps I'll just re make it from scratch.

Well I've got my laptop back so a lot of troubles aregone, I'll be moving around buildings and perhaps making the grid more interesting.

For now a teaser of two new buildings randomly placed

The Humboldt Hotel and Residences was built in 1942 and it offers 50 floors of suites, meeting rooms, and 12 penthouses with private pools, the first one of their kind in Mulligan.

Materas Biobank, a stem cell bank, organ growing and research group established its corporate HQ in Mulligan in this building built in 1992 to house the offices and maybe some laboratories.

here's an older version with a tower but I decided to make the building a mid-rise:

Comments please!

The Humboldt is amazing. It blows the stem cell place out the water in terms of design, but the stem cell place is pretty cool too. I like Humboldt so much because I was trying to go for that look with one of my old Otahita buildings, the Knotley, but you landed it even better than me and perfectly.

Yeah, the Humboldt looks great. I really like it. It reminds me of something you would find in Mid-Town Manhattan or in Chicago. I also like the Materas Bio-Bank but it's a little too fat. The textures make it look really good though.

That pretty much sums up my thoughts on the two buildings. I really like the story behind that Bio-Bank. Very original, and you did a fantastic job with the facade. It fits a 'science/medical' building well. Nice job.

Thanks guys!

I'm still working on both buildings but I just wanted to post the new renders.

The Humboldt was inspired by Upper East side first half of the century buildings, think The Pierre. I still don't know wether to expand it to fit a triangular shaped block or leave it at that.

The Bio Bank is incomplete, I have to work on its base, and the tower that got chopped off. I might put another of those tilted roofs there to make it more sleek. But thanks for the facade texture it's 2 kb and i find it quiet satisfying myself.

Updates tonight!

Well, I can't render the whole city, the same bug keeps appearing ONLY when i render it whole. I can perfectly render small scenes.
So, kinda busy but I could come up with a minor update.
Patrick, this is The Humboldt on the skyline.

This is a new building I have in mind: VerticalX Corporation Intl HQ. The shape plays with the V, my nick and real name's initial, but it has boxy face which I plan to make the facade. The base of the building is unfinished but the heigh wont change too much (unless I add a pretentious spire which I doubt, because then where would I park my choppers?)
Height: 361m - 1184 feet.

Then I pulled up a nice 264 m 866ft box which was build in 1967 to host the main offices of Rearden Life.

And both in context with some construction on the left

VerticalX Corporation Intl HQ, now thats a skyline topper, woah its a very nicely designed Skyscraper, although Rearden Life's textures seem a little too repetive.

Thanks Patrick! Yes I indeed made it to be the highest (like Aleks, lol). It was 1/3 taller but i scaled it down for proportion sake.

I like rearden's texture but it doesnt fit the building.I'll use that txtr as a low rise filler.

Wow vertical, I was really taken back on the opening shot. Very sleek and nice. Your new buildings fit well with the city, and look sharp, however I have to agree with Patrick in regards to the 'Rearden' facade.

I think from looking at the other buildings in your city, the facade itself doesn't fit. You might want to go for a more glassy approach. It's just a suggestion, and the facade is nice, but it doesn't quite fit with the rest of the city.

Thank you very much Treras.btw I've put my port on hold, it's in a different file anyways, so when you get Scottsburg back on -file- remember, it's on!

Dac! Sorry got it, the new building is sleek and sharp, thanks. I intended to make it robust as well with the square face, i guess we'll see how this building turns out when I figure out the base.

It's hard to judge it because is it very good. It flows well with what's been built in your city in every way shape and form. The glass to the shap, all, very much fits. It's very well done.
