There is a pile of snow at either end of my house, so the only way to come and go is to go onto the street. Last night the neighbour's truck was parked there, so Raquel had trouble getting to the house. Later she was out shovelling, and he came outside, so she asked if he could move his truck forward a couple feet (not sure why he was parked on front of mine, and not his house in the first place). So he did move his truck (actually he just drove off), but at about 3:30 this morning he came pounding on my door just loaded, all pissed off because he had to park on the other side of the street. Then he went on about how I should pay him $10 to shovel the already cleared sidewalk in front of my house (I think, I couldn't really understand him (Newfie+drunk)). I really wasn't in the mood for discourse so I just shut the door in his face; he yelled for a while longer, telling me to go fuck myself, then went home.
I totally forgot, there was another guy in this story. Just after the guy moved his truck, another dude leaned out a window across the street and yelled at us for a little while. I just saw him leaning out his window again, this time in the daylight, and I'm pretty sure it was actually him that was at my door.

I feel like a bit of a douche for blaming the truck-guy at first, because he seems decent. He has a bit of a limp, so sometimes I can't tell if he's drunk, or just having issues in the snow due to whatever his injury/limp is. Sometimes it's hard to tell with Newfies anyway; in the summer I saw a guy crawling around in his trunk trying to shut off his car alarm in a Canadian Tire parking lot.

Speaking of Canadian Tire - Canadian Tire Life Insurance??? WTF?

ColDayMan. Question for you.

I can't remember where in Dayton this was taken from...

...but I'm sure you know.

I'll probably have a few more from Cincinnati that I won't be able to place either.

Woodland Cemetery (home of the Wright Bros.), at the base of the Appalachian terminal moraine.

i guess "hey, i'm gonna take off [after just 1 beer], i'm gonna get up early and go snowboarding" is synonymous with "hey, bring everyone from the bar, including our friends who live RIGHT FUCKING BELOW US, to the crib for afterhours and blast MY stereo and wake ME up" to my roommate.

Lolz.

So, it's Hockey Day in Canada, which means I won't leave the couch all day. Well, we went for a walk this morning, since it's the most beautiful day of 2011 to date. -7 and not a cloud in the sky. Finally got a chance to take out my big camera, and got a few decent shots. There's a Marine Atlantic ferry in the harbour for some reason, can't figure that one out.

I was reminded of mittens this morning as I was browsing through the last coffee talk thread.
Lots of laughs.

Hopefully this page won't be as negative as the last one.

I really like the Cubs' chances this year.
