toured the midtown construction sites today...the base of the crane for 22 14th street is secured and connected to power! There is so much construction going on, that I think the construction workers out number anyone else on the streets of midtown these days.

Thanks for the update BlueSangha. It's helpful for people like me who no longer live in Atlanta. Quick question: I check the Atlantic House webcam often. What part of the construction site is the crane for 22 14th Street?

Thanx, it's hidden by that freakin Japanese Maple on the roof of Skyhouse. It's a nice bright yellow, they also started to move a lot more dirt around too.

Thanks so much for responding. You are a big help. Once the crane is fully assembled, it will be front and center on the webcam.

Awesome photo! This really allows us to see exactly where everything is located along Piedmont...I wasn't all that clear on some of it. Thanks for posting this!

I can't wait for someone to redevelop the SW and NW corners of the 10th and Piedmont intersection. I'm so sick of those little parking lots - it needs to be built up to the sidewalk, whatever it is.

I probably should have said "if you zoom in on the 22 14th Street construction site". My apologies.

I agree TarHeelJ. That photo shows several of the apartment towers under construction. The changes that are taking place in Midtown are mind-boggling. If Dewberry ever sells to a developer with deep pockets, the 10th @ Peachtree site could contain something truly amazing. I'm relatively young and I'm still praying that I live to see it.

Atl Dairies First Tenant

Can someone tell me what this is? Getting mighty tired of the Business Chronicle and its paywall.

Paces Properties signed a lease with Agon Sports & Entertainment to run the concert venue. They're also the owners of the Georgia Theater in Athens and Variety Playhouse in Little 5 Points.

One of the owners of Terminal West will also be on the operating side - in essence expanding Terminal West into the Atlanta Dairies project.

Anticipated opening for mid to late 2017 (let's be honest it won't be until 2018).

Thank you. Which owner (from Terminal West)?

Alan Sher, who owns Terminal West along with Robert Shaw, Trent Allison and Scott Orvold, will operate the new venue while Orvold, the talent buyer for the Georgia Theatre, Variety Playhouse and Terminal West, will handle the bookings (even though Sher and Orvold work in tandem on the operations and talent-buying sides of the business).

A couple other behind-the-pay-wall articles today on Atl Biz Cron:

Time running out as GM plant project stays stuck in neutral

$100 million mixed-use project planned near airport

I don't have a subscription either but based on what is provided, my assumption is that this is planned for the block bound by Porche Ave, Elm St, College St, and Perkins St here:

AMLI City Place

The tower crane went down this week at AMLI City Place. They are also assembling the crane for the parking deck of the second phase.

Crane being assembled at 22 14th, a project manager said it would be a "Telescopic" crane like the one building Yoo on the Park.
