Can't help but think Lindbergh is going to feel like affordable housing in the not too distant future. Glad density is coming to multiple neighborhoods all over Atlanta though, especially near transit.

Looks like a goddamn old folks home. Pales in comparison to the design of those west midtown proposals.

Sounds like a literal groundbreaking ceremony for the project - Reed usually shows up to high-profile projects because the projects are receiving some financial/tax incentives from the City of Atlanta.

This project is getting tax incentives but it seems a little early for a groundbreaking ceremony considering that it is still in the DRC process. Maybe they are announcing an anchor tenant for the office space.

That would be my guess too... They are probably announcing the anchor tenant(s). Still happy to see this project moving forward! 👍

couple of different smaller (though seemingly high quality) construction projects in Decatur. Sorry about the quality was in a car

this is near the train tracks/old train station

this is across from that new retail center that went in (Wal-Mart, LA Fitness, lots more). they razed/moved a bunch of houses from new construction lot. gonna be a lot of units and looks like it will be a nice height (goes back way further than you can see from this photo)

Is this senior housing complex the same one that's a part of Fuqua's development?

there is something that is just really visually unappealing about this building and it's eliciting that same disgust factor to me; i think it's this:

Yeah that is part of his development. The Kroger will be behind it.

I wouldn't worry about any phobia. From the rendering it is difficult to know what this would look like when finished in its location. We seem to have moved from totally rectangular and sharp edges to curved exteriors. This will add some variety to the cityscape. As these "fill-ins" are built and density grows, most of these buildings will fade into the everyday streetscape and be totally unremarkable. That is the character of most big cities across the planet; generally unremarkable, with the occasional exception of an architectural gem of a building that draws attention. A good thing, otherwise we wold have too much to contemplate. However, we could use a little more contemplation in Atlanta.
