Some projects I didn't get yesterday. Taken today.

Post Centennial:

Azure, low rise on 11th:

Alta on the Park:

Yoo, that facade is completely solid. Hope the treatment is enough to fix the way it looks now. Ground level was very open though, so that's good:

Atlantic House. Looks like they're building half the deck first, then they'll do the other half:

22 14th on the right:

Amli Arts Center. Weird to see them working on part of the site, obviously no foundation work where the new 15th street is going:

One Museum Place:

Modera and NCR's new tower crane:

I recall the Piedmont Park Conservancy telling me that the soil wasn't supportive enough for the basketball court where they had planned it in the expansion area. That's why they added another one near the Tennis Center instead.

Most of the work has been utility relocation so far.

Does anyone know if Oxblue will have other cams for newer projects, such as NCR, etc.?

Thanks

Any word on Project Scarlett, ie what/where it is?

"Invest Atlanta—the city's economic development arm—is scheduled to vote on $150M in lease revenue bonds as an inducement to improve unspecified space within the city. Generally, revenue bonds go toward reducing the overall rent a tenant pays in a building. Called Project Scarlett, Invest Atlanta offers little more info about the identity of the company, and calls to the organization were not returned by press time. Invest Atlanta will vote on the incentive this Thursday."

Whatever is happening with the Atlantic House site prep, it's gotta be expensive as hell.

What do you mean site prep? The building is nearly topped off with the parking deck halfway from being finished.

Perimeter released its Hammond Drive complete streets plan. Includes grade separated cycle tracks and wider sidewalks. Now if only we could get these types of cycle tracks more often in the city of Atlanta. Physical barriers will lead to more adoption of people willing to bike to work.

Might mean either AMLI Arts Center or 22 14th St. Both of them look extremely expensive, with all the digging and gargantuan pipes and tubes.

Chick-fil-a coming to Poncey-Highland next to Murder Kroger and Clermont Lounge:

At least it is semi-urban with the building right at the street and most parking in the back except for the two handicapped spaces. Could be worse like the one on Northside Drive that just opened up.

Good grief! Some of those roads are 6 to 9 lanes wide! The problem in-town is that most of the roads are restricted to widen to accommodate the grade-separated cycle tracks. They have to either remove more than just on-street parking and/or a travel lane to accommodate; however, Juniper's complete street design is supposed to incorporate a physical barrier with the bioswales creating a median between the cycle track and traffic lanes.

Sorry I meant the Jose Perez parcel across the street, due west. But as mentioned there seem to be issues with a couple of other sites also.

They are dealing with some granite or rock just beneath the surface on one part of the site and they did some blasting a few weeks ago. Everything else appears to be relatively standard. Of course every site and every project is a little different.

I know Ponce needs another suburban style fast food restaurant like I need a hole in my head. But it's a Chick Fil A walking distance from my house, I'm thrilled.

One day Ponce will be an urbanized walkable avenue, but it won't be today lol. What I mean is apartment buildings lining the street up to the street.

That lot is actually part of the area designated as a "storefront street" by city council legislation, specifically prohibiting drive-through windows. I'm curious to know how the proposed store is getting around that.

Well, the side facing Ponce is pushed right up against the street with parking and the drive thru in the back. I think that's exactly what we should expect here.....for now.

The restrictions for a storefront street don't restrict the use on the whole parcel- just how the street is fronted. This is one of the reasons why Fuqua's projects got away with lining parking lots with thin slivers of retail buildings- something that hopefully will be addressed with the ongoing re-write of the zoning code for the whole city.

The project related to the rezoning of Berne St. property behind Maynard Jackson school in Glenwood/Grant Park has released renders (more mundane architecture, Keane needs to hurry up with getting some sort of a design standards thing going):
If the black off kilter peice was a metallic finish that would look cool, but I have no doubt it will be crappy looking painted wood very similar likely to that craptastic looking 131 Ponce.
