so I checked it out today and no glazing yet.
You can see the first paint on the underside of 2 of the lower balconies, I'm thinking the test curtain wall is going to be there.

Sort of a strange place to store it? I guess if it wasn't on the North Shore it would be out in Richmond or Surrey.

Quote:
Curtain Wall Shipments: We are pleased to report that curtain wall shipments, sourced from Korea, have been arriving in Canada since Fall 2023. These shipments are currently being stored in a designated receiving yard on Capilano IR 5.

Mostly a rehash of everything from the monthly updates.

Quote:
Phase 1 Construction
Excavation Completion: Excavation work has concluded
across the entire Phase 1 site, marking a crucial
milestone in the project's progress.
Parkade Structure: The construction of the Parkade
structure for Tower 1 and the District Energy Plant,
located at the southwest edge of the site, is nearing
completion, and will be back at grade by Spring 2024.
Tower 2 Progress: Level One has been successfully
poured in Tower 2. Tower 2's construction is mirroring
that of Tower 3, with a slight six-week difference in
schedule.
Tower 3 Milestone: In January 2024, we achieved a
significant milestone with the completion of the
structure for Level Three, which constitutes the first floor
of residential units in Tower 3. This brings Tower 3 to the
same height as the Burrard Street Bridge.
Tower 3 Progress: With the progression of Tower 3's
structure upwards, we are preparing to welcome
additional trades and subcontractors to the site for the
installation of curtain walls.
Phase 2 Construction
Soil Remediation: Soil Remediation has been
completed on the Western portion of the Phase
2 area.
Excavation Started: Excavation is slowly
commencing and will soon have a shoring wall
complete on the Phase 2 and Phase 3 boundary.
Curtain Wall Shipments: We are pleased to
report that curtain wall shipments, sourced from
Korea, have been arriving in Canada since Fall
2023. These shipments are currently being
stored in a designated receiving yard on
Capilano IR 5.
Logistics and Yard Management: We are
pleased to announce that the logistics and yard
management responsibilities have been
awarded to a Nation-member-owned business
for the entirety of Phase 1. This decision reflects
our commitment to supporting Nation-Member
businesses and communities.

Yeah I just meant the drive over seems a bit far. I guess they are developing so much of the land at once they have no where to store it near the site?

Are they allowed to truck them over Lions Gate Bridge or do they have to take Second Narrows?

They installed some glass/facade trim pieces covering the floor slabs on T3 (?) and a bunch of full panels on the same floor ready to be installed.

Once again jollyburger, thank you, this community is the best.

Yesterday

I like the brush marks on those panels.

In the 4K video, the orange panels (close-up at 07:33) look nice.
Also captured tables flying.
There were flaggers controlling pedestrian and cyclist but you can't control a cyclist.
One cyclist was questioning why he could not pass when cars next to him where going by, he grunted, check for traffic,
then went over the concrete barrier onto the street and carried on (did not capture the annoyed cyclist, was filming the table-forms).
Cyclist are the worse.

Well that's very, orange. I was expecting something a bit closer to copper.

I guess we'll have to see what it looks like with some more panels go up. Hopefully they only need to do that row of glass on the bottom it seems tedious if they have to do the same thing on all the floors.

Stucco and concrete-on-concrete would be a true seventies vibe.

Yes, it is a (huge) symbol (of suffering and injustice) of the new relationship (friendship) building between government (policies) and aboriginals.

There's not a lot of orange spandrel overall.
Some of the balcony railings will be orange.

I can't tell if I'm seeing things but this first balcony just looks off to me for some reason. Or maybe the thickness of the slab varies from the front edge to the back. Even the bottom plywood piece looks weird with what looks like something wedged near that yellow tape. Even that one second floor balcony slab next to the hanging white tarp looks noticeably thicker than the one right below it.
