Wonder why Anderson isn't being replaced as well. It and Chinook are the ugliest, most dysfunctional and most run down of the busy stations. Used to say that about Whitehorn, but it is under renovation.

I think the Langley Rapid Bus will be very successful and revenues will be higher than forecast. Right now getting from Langley to Vancouver/Burnaby/Coquitlam is a day long event because all traffic from Langley must use the SkyTrain which means a long and painful route thru Surrey. This will be a very fast service due to the easy transit on/off ramps built into the new HWY#1 and the HOV lanes. I think it will also get a lot of new passengers due to the new tolls coming on stream at the same time on the Port Mann.

It will also probably help relieve some of the crowding on the Expo Line. It will also be very convient for any SFU students South of Fraser.

New alignment for Bow Trail. The lack of a fence in the median is an accident waiting to happen. During construction, people have been jaywalking across Bow Trail inspite of the existing overpass.

4-LRV Train dwelling at Sunalta. I missed getting a shot of a moving train on the guideway by a few seconds. The damn thing was too quiet!

From my trip to Edmonton!

Found it pretty cool (and somewhat embarrassing as a new Calgarian) that Edmonton has four-car trains. Their downtown subway stations are quite nice by Canadian standards actually.

I'm excited for the West Line and Sunnyside to be finished, as I travel through Sunnyside every day and it's an amazing neighbourhood (Kensington) and the West Line will just be cool.

3rd instalment of the Thunder Bay Transit Subway Map, with a new look since the city stole the font I was using. And of course there is an anagram version.

The new station house at Chinook is going up quick. The demolition of the primary building will commence in January. I'm not sure why, but construction on the new station building will take 8 months to complete somehow.

Here is the current preferred plan for Calgary's North Central LRT line, with a possible connection between the NC and NE lines by way of the Airport.

Oh yeah! And for some reason, Calgary had one of Toronto's new LRT cars on display on Stephen Avenue this summer. Here it is..

After those construction and render pics from Calgary, my mouth is dry from drooling

If Ottawa takes notes from their books for our (eventual?) LRT system, I will be quite happy indeed!

Here are some renders, though I think they're just concepts:

Tunney's Pasture:

Lebreton:

Campus:

Hurdman:

You can check them all out here.

Yeah I have looked in on the Ottawa LRT and the designs are really something! Would prolly be the nicest rapid transit system in the Americas if they built it like that.

A CGI "ride through" of part of the planned southeast-to-west LRT line, the part I'm most excited about (one of the stops will be very near where I live).

Too many interactions with surface streets for my liking. Will be inferior to Edmonton's existing LRT line that is for sure.

I love the positive spin they try and put on having a non-grade separated rail line "here the LRT returns to street level, where it is easiest for riders to hop on and off" Hehe.
