Oh brother. Well, Global was smart to put their broadcasting on top of the art gallery away from the crazies.

I didn't know we actually had that many 9/11 conspiracy theorists.

Well I wouldn't, but you never know somebody might let their dog drink out of there and the water is held in stale tanks at unregulated tempeatures...causing bacteria to thrive.
I'm sure it has to do with health guidelines put in place when it comes to building homes with alternate sources of water.

What's going to happen to all of the furniture in the Olympic Village suites? Was it rented for the few weeks? Will it be sold mega-cheap before the owners move in?

According to their radio ads, the furniture was provided by HBC and the mattresses by Sleep Country. I'm guessing the mattresses will be donated to charity. No clue for the furniture. Depends if anyone trashes their room

Thats actually an interesting question... I know that Sleep Country Canada has an ad on the radio mentioning they provided all the beds for the athletes village, so I'm assuming those at least either end up being resold or donated afterwards.

A big Vancouver 2010 banner is hanging outside of the Big Bamboo (a western-style pub near my place in Shanghai). It's owned by a Vancouverite, so I'm sure he'll be playing all the events. I'll be there tomorrow morning at 10am to watch the opening ceremonies.

The first link is a picture gallery of GM Place.

I'm not a fan of how they put a camera place in the crowd. Why would they do that??? It blocks so many rows of seating.

Also, why so many booths in the crowd on the sides??

Pretty sure those are blue desks constructed for accredited media, similar to the grey ones in BC Place.

lol but why can't the media stay in the broadcast booth? Why does their need to be huge camera podiums in the crowds, blocking the view of a ton of rows above it?

Kind of seems like bad planning if you ask me.

Well, they don't all need to be in the crowd. There are pictures of huge media rooms, too.

What I don't get is this:

That's just stupid and does not seem necessary. Especially since I know I have tickets in that section, I just hope I can see over / around them!

Apparently all restaurants who accept VISA are giving out 2010 VISA pins. I just got back from dinner, and have a Quatchi as a goalie pin to show for it
