That’s a good question. Are there any singular developer personalities in Canada with a track record as terrible as Savoie’s? I know of terrible development companies such as Cidex and Lacaille Group (before they disappeared). The only developer I know by name with a national presence would be Brad Lamb (Billy Corgan), but his buildings seem decent.

I don’t know any other seniors care centre operators / builders such as billionaire Eddy. Is there a person responsible for the atrocious student housing in K/W? The towers of spite guy maybe?

Maybe this guy? Schmuel Farhi is the landlord of almost all of London (and lots of Windsor too):

he's cornered the market.

Cell phone panorama of Ottawa-Gatineau from King Mountain Trail this afternoon, annotated with Ottawa's 6 tallest, Parliament, and the location of our future tallest buildings, the 203 and 234 metres Trinity Centre towers.

That panorama would be a fantastic base for a future skyline graphic, with so much coming up between Place de Ville and Minto Metropole.

What is that shiny gold building in the first pic in Coldrsx's post? At first I thought it was rendered in that way as a promo for a new building or something, but it looks real. It really stands out even though it's a short building. Would kind of love to see a tower come out now in that colour

Lol he's a real piece of work to deal with as well. I was briefly involved in a deal involving a piece of land that he had speculatively purchased down the 401. Sat in a boardroom with him and his son while our client wanted to jump across the table and strangle him. One of those people who you talk to and are like, "how did this guy end up this successful?"

There used to be Scotia Place, before it was reclad with blue glass. But I agree - with how monotonous the sea of green and blue glass has become, I wish our cities were bolder with colours. Gold, pink, even purple glass really sticks out in interesting ways.

Yeah people have no idea what to do with design. Unless their goal is to make it blend it with the sky completely so you can't see it.
