flying out of bellingham is great - cheaper parking - easy to get across and too - like 15 mins from the border - however close you live to the border...

when I felw in june i would say it was 99% people from Canada

we saved over 60% on airfare for the trip to san fran

as for virgin - i flew them from the uk to south africa - it was a great flight and airline

That wouldn't be the same airline as Virgin America. They share the same ownership and have a similar name but offer different service levels.

Virgin is actually one of better airlines in North America. And Virgin did come up with the award winning first-class seating layout, which is now used by many of the top airlines.

Where does Cathay Pacific fly to besides Hong Kong and New York from Vancouver, if anywhere

?

According to their website there is no way this plane should have been where it was, when it was.

They fly through Asia and Southeast Asia. in 2007 they offered a multifly pass that was good for 6 months and it had an extensive list of Asian destinations.

Nice pic. Looks like an A340 to me. The flight could have been delayed for some reason, but I think it had to be a flight from Vancouver to Hong Kong for the simple reason that they fly either a 747 or 777 to every other passenger destination in North America -- with the exception of Vancouver.

Cathay Flies various wide bidies into Vancouver Flight 889 is a 777 Flight 839 varies so the daytime flight could be a 777 ,747, or an A340

When they're leaving sure.

I wish the International Arrivals is as nice as when you come in from US flights. Going through that area is impressive for visitors arriving. Where as from an international flight, you don't see anything until you enter the Grand Arrivals Hall - which I am so glad that it is airy and expansive compared to the arrivals areas of other airports.

I'm quite the fan of the ying-yang carving. Sorta combines the native atwork with asian influence, and of course our history as a logging area (the unpainted wood).

I would absolutely love it if YVR were to incorporate green roofs in the future. I realize that an intensive green roof like the Convention Centre is out of the question since the building was never designed for it but an extensive green roof using sedum or another form of lightweight succulent would be a viable option. Such a roof would certainly help with air conditioning costs and provide an incredible sight for arriving and departing passengers. It would also serve as a powerful symbol for YVR's commitment to sustainability and, literally, greening air travel.
