That's awesome. That must have been taken a week or so ago when we had all that fog. I've always wanted to see the view from a building up above the blanket of fog. It must really be something to see.

They're working on the columns for the 53rd floor - 572 feet 3 inches.
The 53rd floor is the last offset floor before the main roof. You can see the offset shift on the right side overhanging the building, and on the left side where it creates a setback.
My favorite days working in NYC. I worked for DB and had a North facing window out of the 47th floor at 60 Wall. There were some mornings where I could look North and it was only the tops of the big guys who were visible above the clouds. It was a *really* cool feeling.
Crane will be raised one more time pretty soon I would guess. This thing is really popping up more than I expected looking down the street from my house which is awesome because I was worried that I'd never see any buildings once they put up that unneeded billboard that blocks the horizon view. Luckily the Independent is perfectly located in the line of sight.

The Independent is stunning! Really happy we have such an attractive building going up and pumped that it's West of Shoal Creek! The anti-development crowd used to consider Shoal a line in the sand. Ready for that line to be MoPac

The area below 6th all the way over to Mopac is not a traditional neighborhood of homes/houses in any sense. I would agree that it should be up-zoned for more height and density.
