The records request I received showed the total height as 532' 9'" (525' to the roof, 532' 9" to the top of the elevator shaft). They may have upped the height 541' to the FAA, but since the lot is zoned for 525' by the city, my guess is that is why it was rejected by the FAA.
I may put in another records request to see if anything has changed with specs/design of Astra, but I see no reason at all why the city would not approve another 15'. Then again, it's Phoenix.
Edit: Also, there is a zoning sign (ZA-205-20-7) to reduce the sidewalk minimum width to 7' at 111 North 3rd St. in front of the convention center. Anyone know that they have planned there? Currently it's about a 20' or so feet in width.
Another Edit: Went back and looked at my records request and it does indeed look like the roof is listed at 532' 9" and the mechanical screening on the roof would take it to about 541'...give or take. Hey...I can't remember EVERYTHING I post on here!
